Bit of Derby info ive been told

Currently, Derby are insolvent and facing having to pay their debts or be wound up. We're 'technically insolvent' but the only debt we can't meet in full belongs to Gibson and he isn't asking for his money back so we carry on.
It's probably true that given a big enough window of say 10 years, about 88 of the 92 clubs are insolvent by those measures.

Well let’s get on Gibbos back and demand the extra 4-5m that he owes the club then 🤣
That's not how FFP works, He doesn't owe us money, he simply didn't spend as much as he could form the companies accounts. Probably putting it towards a summer warchest, If we don't go up, I wouldn't be shocked to see us spend 10m+ this summer. It was 4-5m under, but many many clubs were far tighter than that.

there is no getting away from even though we’re within the rules we are millions in debt to GON which was my original point.
No one is denying that we are millions in debt.
But your original point was that we were 'close to the edge' and 'one bad season' away from being in Derby’s position.

I guess the key is that we can't keep having losses like in 2021, 35m. A couple of back to back seasons like that would start to test Gibsons bank manager. But, I guess, the vast majority of our debt is on the back of the Garry Monk experiment. I think nearly 3/4 of our debt has built up since he signed.

Assombalonga alone cost 23m in fees and wages, or about 20% of the clubs total debt. We regained nothing when he left, and at best you could say his goals earned us one play off home leg against Villa about 500k. He was an utter disaster of a signing.

Fletcher was another 11m loss. There were a couple of other players just before that time, Gestede 10m, Downing will have cost 12mish.

The recruitment in the last 6 years has delivered very little on the pitch in terms of value, and off the pitch in resale.

Until our debts reduce to sub 30m I would expect all signings will be player with the potential to increase, ie Under 26 year old, older players will have to be free signings.

"Sun journalist Alan Nixon claims administrators Quantuma have yet to pick a preferred bidder from the three potential saviours that registered their offers ahead of a deadline set last Friday.

Responding to concerned supporters on Twitter last night, Nixon said: "The real deadline is when the money runs out.

"The admins will know that precise date. So they have to decide what to do. Finding a buyer right now proving harder than ever. And chances of avoiding EFL points penalties slim.

What goes around, comes around. They have blatantly flaunted the rules and cheated, when they knew the EFL guidelines. Then their club attempted to lay the blame on Boro and Wycombe as to why they cannot proceed with the admin process, they still haven't got a buyer? I feel sorry for the genuine derby fans not those who taunted Boro as they couldnt see through the sheep's wool pulled over their eyes. We as a club are lucky in that we have a fantastic chairman who is one of our own UTB 👍
Just curious, but was it sheep's wool or ram's wool? 🐏

You obviously didn’t take the big hint of sarcasm that post was served with 🤦🏻‍♂️

My original point was we go as close to the limit as Steve Gibson can without breaking the rules. I’ve stated that multiple times.

I have never said we are one bad season away from being Derby county. Thats completely made up by you.

All it takes is one or two wrong decisions (which has happened in the past) or one or two bad seasons (which has also happened) and we’d be in a similar position to Derby County.

Why would you buy Derby for £50m when you could make an offer to buy Sunderland for the same price, the SAFC owners would make a profit, you have a club with a larger fan base than Derby, a full squad of players capable of getting promotion and a proven championship manager.

In some way, I am glad the stadium is the sticking point and coming back to haunt them.
