My local signal box North Ormesby Rd tucked under the bridge when a nipper 70sC70B44C3-6D5D-41C3-B4BB-1DA46F1D3A77.jpegNB note the two tracks Boro to Whitby

I don't think the original Redcar station has been in use in my lifetime.
It's a big and nice looking building that's been stood derelict for years.

Which building is that TeaCider, I know the original station in Redcar was near where the clock is now but not sure of exactly where or which building is left over.

Thornaby station - lovely ironwork
How they can have the article titled 'Thornaby Station Modernisation' is a joke. All they did was flatten everything and put a bus shelter on there. Slightly better now thanks to Trans Pennine.

Sorry guys but this is the saddest station I’ve ever seen in real life . Detroit station that once signified the might of a thriving city during the auto boom and then shut down and sadly epitomised a city on its knees .
When I pulled in the station to see U2 locally in 92 it was literally a couple of portacabins further down one of its platforms .

It needs people to tell councils what they want - how they value the look, feel and heritage of the places they live. How the character of a place is important to them. Especially so when we have all been locked down and have to live close to home.

I think one little inkling of positivity about this crisis ( bear with me here ) is that it’s given us all a chance to stand back and examine lots of things closer to home . I’ve certainly suddenly started going through all the small print on loads of issues such as insurance , energy Etc and have adjusted lots of things .

I’ve even gone through all the planning applications around me and there’s one house out the back of me that’s having a mega extension and I never even noticed although a letter was sent to me 12 months ago so timescale has elapsed so cant comment .

I guess we can all now be a bit more expressive in local issues

There was no need, in 50 years we will have more bog standard houses stood there, do you think the kids will say 'whats that mam' .

No one will be happy until this country is identical in every way.
