Bilbao/San Sebastien

Don't forget to cross the transporter bridge in Bilbao (gondala and walk over the top, and it's red)

Just like being at home.

SS is nice. Done most of the places mentioned above on a motorbike trip.

Go to Getaria which is about 40km west of San Sebastian and have yourself a day of seafood and the Taxokolina from that area( which is the best), + when you leave Pamplona check out Logrono , Vitoria and Haro, all three have something really going for them.

Just back from Bilbao a couple of weeks ago, second visit after first going in september last year. Took my daughter for a little jaunt as the flights were extraordinarily cheap.. wanted to go again as I love it … superb example of how to regenerate a city in the post-industrial era … just has a great vibe, people nice, and plenty to do for a few days - worth going out to the transporter in Potugalete .. an obvious pull for Teessiders ! It’s a bit more appealing than Port Clarence around there. The food is great in this part of the world. Thr transport in Bilbao is superb, get a Barik card , load a few euros on it and go and have a look about.
San Seb/Donostia is a truly grand place , a city with a beach or three - quite unlike anywhere in UK , again food wonderful.
Do a couple of nights in each and stay as centrally as you can then walk about, stop for food and drink , people watch, enjoy their nice laid back approach. People live in the city centres in big numbers so theres plenty of folk about always. I’d like to explore the region a bit more and may go in the car one time. For now I will be doing a night in Vitoria, Two in San seb and one in Bilbao as the last part of a bigger Spanish trip in June

Errrrrrr
Isn’t Bordeaux famous for something a little better 🍷
I love the place btw
With us being an hour from Bordeaux we have visited it on a number of occasions and sampled both red and white wines. My favourite being a Saint Emilion and a few in my small collection.

We will drive to Labouheyere and will get the train to Bordeaux from there. Bordeaux is another great place to sit and people watch and the Capucin Marche is excellent for food. We did visit the marche last year when collecting my son from the train station but it was close to closing and we had to drive. This time we are getting a hotel, have a meal in Bordeaux on the night and then get up and got to the market. We will sample the fruits de mer, have a few wines and no doubt we will be tipsy by lunchtime.

I've just tuned in and noticed Brook run out.

Need Stokes to get his head on stay here and get us below needing 80 runs. He's hobbling something rotten.

Edit: I think this should have been in a he cricket thread. 🤣🤣🤣

Also check out Guernica if you have a day. The old Basque captial is now a lovely little small town. With a famous oak tree.

The "agony of fire" memorial is quite poignant too. Especially when you read about the Luftwaffe attack that happened there
