Big Dunc

No, not in our current predicament.

Personally think we need a manager who knows this division for us to stand any chance of getting out of it.......or rather stand a better chance.

Interesting name though.

I actually think he would be a good manager. Whether it’s what we need who knows but I wouldn’t be against it.

Corberan is my first choice

Not exactly known for being a thinker. We need to move away from this view of "inspirational leader". It's 2022, there is too much to think about now in terms of how the game is played. Long gone are the days of just throwing a formation up and telling people to go and do their job.

We should be appointing someone with a bit of intelligence. Actual intelligence as well, not just intelligent for a footballer.

100% this. Intelligence and communication would be the two biggest I'd be looking for in a manager. A student of the game who understands it's intricacies but, crucially, can develop an innovate platform for play which maximises our strengths and limits the oppositions.

Communicating that strategy is obviously vital too - this was (one of) Woodgate's downfalls I think. He had an image of how he wanted us to play but couldn't communicate/coach it into the squad.

As for Ferguson, I don't think he meets either of those criteria. Yes he's assisted some top managers but I've always considered his role as a "link" to the playing staff, local area etc rather than him being a top coach (similar to Higgy's role under Karanka).
