We all know by now, we`re at "the business end" of the season: the time when us fans are asking "what if"? What will happen if we dont get into the play-offs? If we do and we go up - who will stay and who will go? If we get into the play-offs and lose....Will Fry go to a Premier club? What about Tav? Will Lumley be replaced and what about the loanees? How much will we get for Djed spence? [kerching!!!]. Who will Chris bring in? Will the service improve on the concourse? Will we get ripped off with the price of the new home shirt? Is Chris Wilder really God and can he get us into the promise land? Who will pay for the statue?.............

Players face departure to pastures new and some may be offered new contracts: but Chris is far too shrewd to drop any hints - even subtle ones. Asked about media reports concerning key players [they are all key actually] - he replied "I`ve no issues about speculation and paper - talk". "Talk about players shows we are doing things right". Its a positive reflection on our club, that players such as Coburn, Jonah, Tav, McNair, Spence, Dijksteel and one or two others - have been in the spotlight. He commented that there are those who have "gone out the door" since the Wilder Revolution landed on November 8th 2021. They`l be changes of personnel over the summer without doubt: others will have to consider new contracts or move on. Johnny Howson, Neil Taylor, Sol Bamba, Lee Peltier - to name but a few.

He appeared confident that Martin Payero has a role to play in the development and progress of the team. Acknowledging "he hasnt done a lot" [since the Argentinian arrived], with injuries and competition for places - Payero is chomping at the bit to get back. Obviously "knocking on the door". Coburn too - but "he is one for the future: part of his development is being one of the first team". He`s "a hell of a long way to go". Tav? "He`s a talent and has the ability to play in the top league".

Fighting for places - feeling left out - wanting a chance to prove themselves - "I like stuff like that" [from players around the first team]. He used the term "tetchy" - by that, his tone suggested he meant "pzzd off"! Lets hope the whole squad feel like that. Anger - directed in the right way, can fuel determination and enable units to focus and fight harder! Our objective is the play-offs - Chris gave a huge indication thats what he`s been aiming for. As for points "I`de have liked a few more since I got here" - but he only arrived not long after Bonfire night!

Chris, aware of the big picture - the medium and longer term plan in mind - "we are still in the very early stages" [Since I`ve been here].

Its no secret that anything less than 110% isnt good enough for Wilder and his Management Team. Clearly disappointed after the Fulham game - but there`s lots of changes likely on the summer horizon. "Contracts - dont want to talk about them"!

Forward! Forward!

"The supporters get it" - where we are coming from and where we want to be.
Did he think the players understood the importance for Middlesbrough to get back to the top flight??
Middlesbrough: "Its a proper football club"! - a big football club - everyone is on board.
What about the future? "We want to do everything to the maximum"!
There are other clubs vying for the play-off places and its going to be tight.
What were his thoughts?
"We just want to be Middlesbrough, no one else".(y)

Hold on tight!
