Best team in the Championship since Wolves

Gutted.
But they were so organised and fast and tenacious they simply overwhelmed us.
Made us look slow in thought and movement.
Best at the Riverside since Wolves beat us with 9 men a good few years ago.

I said Wolves would finish top half in the PL and they did.
If Burnley can keep that level up they too will be top half IMHO.

They were a good side but some of those tactics really surprised me as I expected better. You’ve won the league why is your keeper time wasting got the 4th time.

Not for me, Wolves were streets ahead of where Burnley are. They are a good side, well organised and thoroughly deserve to go up but I think they'll need to really strengthen next season.

Burnley stopped us playing tonight but we were poor as well, the chances we had to play we wasted by giving away sloppy passes, miscontrolling the ball and both of their goals were poor.

Tonight the only complaints we can have is that the officials looked like they'd been paid off by Burnley, and after we scored we dominated the ball but did absolutely nothing with it.

We've just been outclassed by a team with better players in almost every position, who've lost 2 games all season and are promoted a month before with 7 games to play.

We now have 6 games to finish strongly and go into the playoffs on a high

Didn’t they just

It was clear Burnley we’re winning tonight wasn’t it.

Archer was floored and the ref all but told him to get up and stop moaning no physio called nothing.

In hindsight I'm happy that pre-game we already had little chance of top two.
They chased and harried us all night and we just couldn't seem to cope with them.
Imagine that we were desperate for a win!

I had it down for a 1-1 pre-game and was obviously over optimistic.

Then again, in a high intensity match neither keeper had much to do 🤷‍♂️

Yes their keeper boiled my blood too - no need!

Best team in the league, better than us, but I don't think they're the best ever.

Earliest team to be promoted though, apparently.

Easy to see why they have p1ss Ed the league.

Great recruitment. The side has been reconstructed from last season. Two loanee wingers who are class, Josh Cullen who bossed the midfield and Maatsen at left back too good. Why Southampton have loaned out Tella when they are struggling so badly is baffling.

Was saying the same - reminded me of the Wolves team of a few years back. Though Wolves were better than them

I also don’t agree that that they were anywhere near that Wolves side. They’ve got quality without doubt, dominate the ball and have a cutting edge.

They are extremely consistent but I also think their early winning of the league is also linked to how poor / tight the division is this season.

Can’t take away anything away from Burnley. They’ve been ultra consistent and stand out amongst all sides in this division, but so many teams are at similar levels that everyone else below them simply can’t get near.

You what? Only if you’re a drink the Sky Cool Aid football started in 1992 idiot are they.

If you know your history, and you damn well should on here if anywhere in this case, the earliest promotion to the top flight was achieved on 23 March. 23 March 1974 in fact.

Nice for Sky to show the champions promoted with 7 games left.

You're right, it just came across on the ticker tape in the pub, they're specifically talking about the Championship.

But it's the same number of games remaining as Charlton's Champions.

Officials were appalling and that did have an effect on us, numerous times the ref gave Burnley the decision on fouls, that were not fouls and it breaks up play.

The ref gave Boro a penalty that clearly wasn't.

I understand everyone is frustrated but Burnley didn't look great to me. They dished up a few defensive errors that Akpom wasted.

Maybe the important thing is to forget these two defeats. Clear thinking. Automatic promotion is gone, it's just the playoffs now. Make sure of finishing no lower than 4th and build some momentum for the playoffs because they will be tough.

This is why we need to take the positives out of the game. We ran a Burnley team, who are running away with the league (only 2 losses all season, which could be a championship record) very close and on another day with more belief probably beat them and defo deserved a draw. #MakeYourGlassHalfFull

I disagree slightly.
Best team in the championship this season, easy. Commentators reminded us all 1264 times during the game that Kompany didn't expect promotion for at least 4 years. Crazy really when they started with a clean slate of players with no damage to morale.
Burnley will continue to do what they did in the premier league, which is absolutely nothing to avoid relegation every season.

At least the likes of Brentford, Bournemouth and Fulham have given it a go, Brentford obviously been the most successful of those three mentioned. I think Burnley, again would be quite happy to follow the old Norwich model of up and down bank balance boosting.
