Move over Brockway, Ogdenville and North Haverbrook!

Where better to put it than an an airport nobody uses whose terminal is a two minute walk from car parking.

How about putting doing something useful by putting it all the way down Marton Road? Eliminate the crawl in one fell swoop. Reduce pollution by 90%.

I won't bother reading the Gazette article but I'm betting my life savings that the concession to operate it is going to M&G. At no cost obvs.

Further details confirmed on plans for trackless tram rollout across the Tees Valley

Went to Riverside Ind Park M`bro at 4.20 pm yesterday to pick the young -un up from the river. Was an accident on the A66 believe it was Cannon park end. A normal 15 min drive back to Stockton took almost 2 hours. Travelling through North Ormesby thru Longlands- Ayresome-Levick Cresent- Thornaby and eventually to Stockton West outskirts. The whole of Middlesbrough gridlocked.

He won't get it will he , the review by the government will withdraw the money allocated to TVCA, but at the same time other projects around the country will get the go ahead. Labour will get the blame while he will be able to say he did his bit. Whether you like him or hate him , whether you think he is corrupt not, I still feel in his 10 years he has done more than all the combined Labour Councils and authorities in the Teesside area over the previous 40 and I hate the Tories but when it comes to Teesside labour is lacking. I live in a Labour MP constituency as well as a council and I feel like there is always something going on potentially for the good of the city and the greater city, I get the opposite feel when I go to Teesside.

Shocked that the pilot will be at Ben's airport. Shocked I tell thee.

Come on Pontiac Bandit, here's your opportunity. Monorail. Monorail. Monorail. Monorail.

What's he done?
I look forward to reading your list.

Stockton has been one of the best performing councils in the country. They do quite remarkable things, in the face of horrendous cuts, compared to lots of places across the country.

In my mind, Houchen has spent £1bn pound and I couldn’t tell you what we’ve benefited from? Job growth is neutral at best. Transport has seen no improvement in his time. Business investment is poorer than pre-Houchen. Housing he hasn’t touched. Culture is languishing.

Happy to be proven wrong if there is something we can drive to in Teesside and point at.

Happily agree that Stockton are doing really well under very difficult conditions.

Middlesbrough has for the last good number of years really struggled, We've suffered tremendously with a narcissist at the helm for 4 years, and it's taken the new council since May 2023 to get a grip.

I think, and so do government that we're not only getting there, but going places, we've had the best value notice rescinded, had social care taken out of special measures and brought the council back from the brink of bankruptcy. And next week we will ask councilors to support the budget, a budget that for the first time in 16 years are investing in essential services, with a 20% increase in the Area Care budget, clearing the town of overgrown weeds and litter, cutting grass much more often, employing regular pest control officers, and just generally cleaning the town up. We're starting up a new events team so we can promote the town with events that we were once top of the area for, bringing people back rather than chasing them away.

We are reversing, all be it slowly the cuts of the Tories and the waste of Preston in Middlesbrough. Middlesbrough at last is finally on the up; it's nothing to do with Houchen, it's the hard work of council staff and the vision of the mayor and the new ruling labour group.

Oh, lets be brutally honest. As a Labour councilor, even I can agree that Ben has done some good things. I am the current acting chair of the TVCA scrutiny committee and know the brilliant work that the TVCA staff have done.
You made that statement that you think he has done more in the last 10 years than Labour have- of course we all have to bear in mind that in the last ten years we've had a government that have seen Ben as some kind of demigod and have a-washed him with finances. I note that until the 2024 elections that no Combined authorities mayors- regardless of flag, were defeated in any election, CA mayors were spending the money that local authorities had removed from them, but what's even better for them is they had zero statutory duties, so could chuck cash at whatever they wished.

I'll suggest that the hundreds of millions that Ben has had and spent have had very little return for the people of the Tees Valley. And the actual return he has had, a Labour mayor of the tees valley would have at least matched if not massively improved the returns.

At what % increase in Council tax. And if you are in the know what the score is with the Preston picture house.

The proposal for Middlesbrough is 2.99% + Adult SC of 2%, people should remember that the 2% ASC is ringfenced so not for council everyday spending. The current situation regarding the Crown is it's on the list for transfer to the MDC, all transfers are on hold until the TVCA's TDC/Teesworks review has been completed.
