Beer in a can or bottle?

I only tend to drink craft beer these days and that generally comes in 330ml cans. Although nothing beats the taste fresh from a keg, canned beer is still decent.

Getting misty eyed for the time I just pop into a pub look along the bar and choose a pint of cask ale on hand pull, engage in a little banter with the bar staff and turn round to look at the other punters as I take my first sip.....oh bottle every time :giggle:

Intuition tells me that beer should be better from a can. It's brewed and stored in metal containers and unlike a bottle a can protects from light/sunlight degradation and yet for me it is the bottle every time. At least for ales. I don't mind a cold lager straight from the fridge.

As for drinking from glasses, I do this all the time. Why exclude the olfactory system from the business of beer drinking?

Bottles seem more of a holiday thing.. or if your going to a fancy restaurant.

Can’t beat smashing a bag of cans!!
