Beat Hull 4.0 and we are in back in the top 6.

Our form is mixed at the moment, until we actually start winning games consecutively I am not expecting anything but more hoping for victories.

Christ looking at the thread title we’re doomed if we need those sort of score lines already!
Just saying what we need to do. No problem with that? We should be scoring more, don’t you think? Until Bola came on and Tav went right against Fulham we passed and passed but never got the ball into their box. We need to do it more, to cause panic in 5th from bottom Hull’s box. OK?

Absolutely, the last 2 games have proved that. Yes we got 4 against Peterborough, but we should have been 4 nil up at half time. Fast forward 4 days against a far better side and we miss the same amount but don’t get second chance’s, they get one clear cut chance and goodnight Vienna. We have to dramatically improve our goals to chances ratio dramatically starting this weekend, not next week or the week after!

Well technically I'd say it has to start next friday, bcs if we miss chances against Hull we will get second and third and fourth chances. Next week away to Bournemouth we won't get that.

All those missed opportunities are coming back to bite our asses. We are so shot shy outside the box. A toe poke on Wednesday with that rain could have worked.

I'd take a 1-0. It's a bit of a must win after wed. That said its basically 7 Cup finals.

Although teams in and around us will take points off each other. I think Fulham have to play 4 of the top 6. Yet could be promoted in a week or so. That's not great as could 'go on the beach'.

It's still in our hands and we'd have taken that last summer. I just think Hull looks important as we've got two really hard games next weekend. That said the champos that unpredictable that we could lose tomorrow and win both next week.

You can't really pick and choose games that we will win or lose. It's a crackers league. I mean just look at Luton drawing with Peterborough (who should have won).

Yep I'd take 1-0 right now.
The problem for all teams now is that there's little margin for error. Dodgy refereeing decision, unlucky deflection etc. Every time we slip up we're back out of the top 6, I don't remember that situation in the past. Same for Forest and Sheff utd. Probably because we've been playing catch up, I reckon all 3 clubs would've been established in the top 6 with their current managers from the start of the season
If we get 5 wins including Vs Huddersfield I think we'll be nailed on

Just beat Hull, get the three points and move on, other teams will drop points
C'mon Boro we can do this, still in our hands..C'mon

We have our fixtures backended to the season, we will be a game or two less right until the final game. We will drop out of the play offs, but with a chance to get back in. We all need to be mentally prepared for that. We need to be within 2-4 points of most teams in our last 4 games.

From 23rd April we will have games in hand and a great set of fixtures: Swansea, Cardiff, Stoke, Preston

In that same time frame:
- Huddersfield will have Coventry (A), Bristol (H). if we are within 5 points of Huddersfield we will probably take them
- Luton have Blackpool and Reading at home Fulham away. We need to stay no more than 4 points behind to take them
- Blackburn have got Preston and Birmingham away Bournemouth at home. So again need to stay within 4 points
- Forest have Hull, Bournemouth and Fulham away, Swansea home. Need to stay no more than 2 points behind them
- Sheff U have Cardiff and Fulham at home, QPR away. So stay within 3 points

Of course we don't have to achieve all the above....just 2 of the above. We are in the zone for all of those right now and Luton in particular look very vulnerable with 2 tough fixtures coming up. 4 points from the next 2 would give me a lot of confidence that we will make it

I wouldn't be surprised to see us draw and then beat Bournemouth and Huddersfield.
Huddersfield could be huge, we could even be level with a game in hand when we play, so winning that would be a massive confidence blow to them

I'm still hoping Forest or Sheff Utd run out of steam and miss out. The play offs would be tough whoever you play but an away leg at Forest or Sheff Utd would be a very tough one. They'd think the same about us of course, but i just think our fans would dominate the atmosphere at a Huddersfield or Luton for example.
That's getting ahead of myself of course, we need to get there first

After a day or so to calm down and reflect it really is an exciting time to be a Boro fan. This league is crazy. Win and you’re in the top six, lose / draw and you’re out!

Great post, we need to hold our nerve over the next few tough games
