If there is one thing life has taught me it's that in my 46 years, we've never travelled the same road as others. We're judgmental and opinionated yet rarely understand the personal pain others have felt and experienced.
In a world where the pain and journey of others is often overlooked and ignored because of our own pain, we need to look out for others.
I don't care for the race, the gender, the age of others. I care for our humanity, our shared experiences, our pleasures and joys and our hurt and the things that sear.
We're almost all the products of our environment and the things, the experiences we endure.
It's rarely clear what those are and our natural instinct is to shield, to protect ourselves.
All I ask is that in this season of goodwill is that we don't judge and we open our hearts and minds to the unseen struggles of others.
