Be Bigger Than Bullying

I have noted with alarm the amount of people quickly wading in to have a pop at other posters. Just banter.. They dish it out therefore they can take it. etc.
Seriously. Stop and think before you make a post picking out an individual poster.
You might say it works both ways etc but am asking people to think and then be considerate and considered in your posting.

Well said Rob. There are a couple of posters in here that get dogs abuse by a number of posters; they have quite strong opinions of their own and quite able to stick up for themselves, but some of the threads really make uncomfortable reading.

It takes a little shine off what is a truly fantastic board with excellent posters.

Totally agree Rob no place for personal insults, attacks or following other posters accross multiple threads with the same running joke/accusation (Nobby).

But equally, there is also an increase in people talking or posting nonsense or having a more extreme opinion on something, who when challenged claim they are being harassed or bullied.

We need a balance.

A few less people spamming the board with fake ITK threads wouldn't hurt either  .

I am calling for balance. And for general discussion and not piling in one side and making it personal.

Best of luck with that Rob. It's a nice idea but I don't think it will stick particularly well.

I've posted many time why can't people just agree to disagree its not hard

99% of football topics peoplec end up agreeing or disagreeing when it comes to politics that is when the name calling & abuse starts

I honestly don't understand it either, hopefully Rob something may come out of this, but I very much doubt it

I think when they post dog whistle racist or hateful right wing views whilst pretending to be all innocent, when people give them it back they then cant handle the backlash, if you cant handle don't dish it out.

Football opinions shouldn't be hateful, I must have missed them if they have been, although BL seems to be the source of ridicule., there's no need for it.

If its just general politics I don't think its a problem, its good to have difference of opinions.

Football.
The daftest was the You Tube conspiracy video of Neil Warnock tactics board, an old one was found in the Area 51 Top Secret hanger, where the anti gravity machine and books of his tactics/equations were found.

Do the admins ever look at accounts to see how many people are ignoring them? It would be a simple way of getting rid of some of less welcome posters by a consensus. Say when 20 people are ignoring an account that they are warned, when it hits 50 the account is deleted? Something like that perhaps?

I'm always deeply suspicious when a "new member" starts posting on a politics thread it is account that was created a year or more ago and not used till now to go politicking. They often seem to have knowledge of and grudges held against long term posters or (and this is a dead giveaway) "The Clique"...

It is Ticker, I agree that's what this board is for, every topic under the sun, we all have different tastes in whatever subject, that's what makes the world go round but there's still no need to get personnel
That's what hopefully this thread is made for, yes have your say, other will agree, whike others don't but this place woukd be feel a lot more pleasurable if it stopped at the name calling & just left it at that

Accounts are created the day you register. It doesnt mean you are allowed to post. So mine is february but i have only been able to post for a week or so. I could still read the board and well aware of who posters are because of this. This would stand to reason why some new posters already know things

Maybe it’s my state of mind, but I find there is a real undercurrent of nastiness on here.
No disrespect to you Aet, but I disagree, away from the few who do go out of their way to name call posters when someone doesnt agree with their 'more important' post then I find generally vast majority of others are excellent posters, some I won't agree with, politics apart I mean, but thats the way it is

Ah, I stand corrected. No offence meant but it does seem a quite frequent situation that the first topic they post on is political rather than Boro or Football which as I see from a quick glance at your profile Vikster is not the case for yourself. Welcome to the board.

I agree Erimus, I have found the posters on this board very supportive and understanding. I have gone through some hard times and the understanding and encouragement shown has been really helpful.
Not everyone agrees with everything and sometimes you have to accept that there may be a difference in opinion, that may be driven by circumstance or environment. You just cant take a difference of opinion personally.
