I'm finding it quite difficult that I have to watch Eurosport so far in Olympics. No coverage last night and I'm watching the rowing on Eurosport but BBC has highlights of opening ceremony for 2nd time and rowing on red button hasn't even stated but its been on for an hour on eurosport

Are the BBC there? The studio graphics are so weird basically doesn't look real

The BBC coverage is truly shocking to be honest they are apparently meant to be the host broadcaster. Yet showing 1 sport on BBC 1 rowing and 1 sport currently gymnastics on BBC redbutton. However on discovery plus 1 is every sport so on that watching archery.Gb athletes just beat China. As got the free trial other day to see payero as BBC did not show that game either. The BBC need to up their game atleast open up BBC 2

Yeah Helen glover n co in the deep end looking at their times.... bigged up last night.... these alot better

Fell asleep there

Isn't this due to Discovery buying up the European rights and basically sub-licensing it to various other broadcasters?

This was meant to start in 2022 winter Olympics
No it's not.

Eurosport / Discovery - have the pan-European rights for the summer games which started with Tokyo 2020 and are sub-licensing to the BBC. The BBC can only show 2 live sports at a time so is very limited by what they can cover. Basically Discovery are allowing the bare minimum to meet the requirements of the Crown Jewel events rules.

In return - the BBC who hold the winter games rights in the UK for the next few games are sub-licensing the games to Eurosport to allow them to be the paid TV broadcaster in the UK.

Basically blame the IOC for being greedy and selling the rights of the whole of Europe and pricing the BBC out of retaining their usual coverage.

I have got discovery plus free for 12 months now. Literally every event is on live
I'm talking about what they allow the BBC to cover. The bare minimum for it to satisfy the Olympics have to be on free TV coverage.

As for Eurosport - they might have everything on Discovery Plus but they certainly don't on their Amazon Channels which is the same price. Hardly any of the football is being shown live.

Yeah I understand now why it seems like less coverage

I signed up to discovery plus got 12 months free and they have an Olympic section which has all live events on
