Merson played at least one game in the prem for us. So he qualifies, but I suppose if its only based on premier League performances he doesn't make the cut.

How on earth Ince isn't at least on the bench (personally I'd have him in for Emerson) is baffling.

And if you're playing 442 it's Franck in for Ziege. Ziege was an outstanding wing back but a poor full back, as he demonstrated at Liverpool.
 
Merson played in the opening day 0-0 draw with Leeds where 'too fat for England' was sang by a certain section of the Riverside.

As its a Premier League 11 and not a Riverside 11 that kind of rules out the Magic Man
 
In that formation Downing needs to be wide left. I'd have Zenden next to Boateng as that partnership had a brilliant balance.
I know Ziege was a class player, but when he operated as a proper left back he was quite poor defensively. I'd have him in as a wing back but in a back four I'd go with Queudrue
 
Love mendi & pre his injury he would walk into the side , but he was far from his peak with us . Play a 3 in the middle & put the little fella at ten , swap boksic for rav & just give us the title now 😃
 
Boteng and mustoe combo would be meeded to backup all the flair players whoever you pick for me

That’s my team too, with Rav for Viduka (pure goals), Downing might get in over Ziege, Emerson or Bolo Zenden is a hard one.

Can’t leave Jonny Woodgate out of an all time Boro XI.

Boksic started a Champion’s League final, he is a different level of class - proper 120m+ striker if he played today. I like Boksic/Rav rather than with Viduka because Boksic and Viduka were similar players in their way. But Boksic was better.

Downing flying down the wing putting in crosses for Rav and big Alen with Zenden behind him and Juninho floating around in the middle is unbelievably mouthwatering.

We’d win the league for sure.

That’s because he was played out of position by the ginger imposter all the time he was here.

He played there the majority of his time with Valencia. You could say he didn't have the kegs for it anymore, but it was very much his position.
He didn't have the engine for centre mid in the prem, ot only worked in a 5 across the middle
 
I wonder if Geremi knows he’s the consensus best right sided midfielder who’s ever (or in the last 30 years) played for Boro, he didn’t get a lot of love elsewhere.
