Barlaser and Archer

Looking at Barlasers highlights reel and Archer's direct running yesterday, I think anyone trying to play a high line against us will get absolutely murdered by the combination of passing from deep and pace.

Hopefully the opposition will drop that bit deeper giving Akpom, Forss and McGree that bit of extra space/time to pick and pass and cause havoc.

UTB!

Who is the left sided attacker?

Giles, sort of?

As we were yesterday.

I think with a left winger we'd lose part of our fluidity and attacking play. The current Akpom receives and controls, McGree moves forward inside left, Giles gets on his bike bombing forward, Akpom slides the ball cross field into his path, Giles crosses/cuts back would be lost.

I wouldn't be against the other lad from Rotherham coming in, but don't think we need him without a forward or two leaving.

Is everybody assuming he is straight inyo team replacing ??? Howson (c) ? Hackney ?
I think it won't be as brutal as that, but yes. I think from what I've seen he looks like an upgrade on either if he plays at his best. Maybe a few as a sub first then and more a bit of rotation to rest, or prevent a suspension if anyone gets there etc.

Howson isn't much of an on field Captain IMO, but a great pro and will still be club captain obviously, I'd probably give the on field arm band to Lenihan I think.

Archer has replaced Crooks in the starting eleven and we played much better with his running creating chances/space and only a couple of heavy touches stopping him notching himself. I see no reason why Barlaser won't be utilised from the off.

Howson yes hackney has been superb
Think it just gives us some more competition. There’s 17 games left in the season, potentially 20 if we made it to Wembley. Even though Howson has been fantastic and I am a massive fan, as are all of us. He’s 34 now and to have a top level first team rotation option in Barlaser, compared to Mowatt or Boyd-Munce for example, is a massive positive for us👍 also feel that he’s more confident on the ball with his amount of assists this season. Things are looking up for us UTB
