Is that the expectation that he won’t go down?

They are pretty hard on these things in the USA usually.
 
It was always going to be the case.
His defence was flimsy even before the trial and the stunt of getting a letter from Jabba the Putz relinquishing him from executive privilege was never going to work as he wasn't entitled to it in the first place.
After last night's January 6th hearing I am more hopeful that the DOJ will bring charges against Agent Orange and his cronies and that some of the cowards in the GOP will grow the balls that a lot of the female witnesses have been in possession of and that they'll see an opportunity to cut themselves adrift from him.

Yeah, couple of years I can see him weaseling out of it with a good legal team and favourable judge - but I agree, they don't tend to take sh*t hesitating sending people to jail.
Interesting if he does go down, where that leaves Trump ....the C in C of the Capital Hill Riots....and if he goes down what his redneck supporters do. Could kick off in America massively.
 
He might be hoping that senator Josh Hawley comes “running” to the rescue.

It really is amazing what has happened is happening in America it is something from a dystopian novel.

Trump no doubt will pardon him in 2024.

We're on the same path as the USA. Bannon and his cynical ways of undermining democracy are highly influential here.
