I'll be honest, unless its due to a complete disaster on the injury front, i don't want to see Engel anywhere near our starting 11 unless we're playing 3 at the back with wingbacks.

His confidence must be completely shot after last night. I hope he's got a bit of character about him to bounce back.

The fact a 19 year old "centre back" got moved there at half time and performed better than him speaks volumes.

why? he had a good 30 mins where we completely controlled the game and wasnt put under any pressure. He also had to just pass the ball back because he didnt want the ball on his left foot.

I mean there's bad games, and there's bad games. Think Alan Wright against Arsenal. It was at that level for me.

It did give me a bit of a laugh thinking about Engel trying to defend against peak Thierry Henry / Pires etc though given the roasting he got off a right back playing for championship relegation fodder.
