Bacon - Link to Dementia

I also think raises up 50%. So if you have 1 in hundred chance then it goes up to 1.5 in hundred if you eat bacon.

I'm currently making a conscious effort to eat less red meat/bacon/sausages.

The problem in our house is the missus is veggie and she only lets the little one have chicken/fish, so if I buy a piece of red meat/pack of bacon/sausages, I'm eating it for about 4-5 days straight without even realising. So next RM for me (and vino for that matter) will be Easter Sunday when the inlaws come over (in a bubble) and I do a leg of lamb.

I genuinely look forward to having my inlaws over as it means I get to cook for people.

Travel ban and lockdown for pigs. You can only eat your bacon sarnie wearing a mask and socially distanced. I can see it coming.

So just for clarity and confirmation. If you eat bacon, head the ball and don't do crosswords, you might as well give in now.;)

Only joking, making light of an awful disease.

From the article ....

He told the Sunday Times: “We should not assume from this research that one rasher of bacon a day increases your risk of dementia by 44 per cent — it is simply not possible to demonstrate that in a study like this,” he said.

If you eat fried bacon every day I don't think you need worry about dementia, the heart attack will get you first.

Seriously, this sort of stuff is a bit of a nonsense, the "article" is filled with "probablies" and "potentialies" from a small data set. We know that processed food, meat in particular, is bad for us and eating it every day is not a good idea.

Used to have one most days when I worked Offshore. Bacon and Black Pudding or Bacon and Haggis. Mmmmmm About the only thing I miss about working offshore.

The Vegetarians have been telling you/us for years and years - but we wont listen.
Aye Wilf, you are possibly correct, however, given the choice of a nice crispy bacon butty and a slice of nut roast; there’s only one winner for me!
