who told you that?
Disagree . F**k him . We’ve been going 1876 . He is a mercenaryI doubt there would be animosity towards him from the rest of the squad, Warnock has been in the game long enough to let bygones be bygones if Ayala improves us (which he does) and despite the obsession fans have with players having to love the club he’s perfectly entitled to seek opportunities elsewhere. A couple of good games and the fans will be singing his name again
Karanka didn’t stick with him he signed Chambers to play with Gibson and they were good together.I remember all the rumours at the time being around Downing and someone throwing a chair.. Woodgate getting involved somehow.
Sounds about right that folks would make shyte up about the local lads and create bad blood. Downing spilt his guts when he left and said of the genuine disappointment of not playing as many games as he felt he could have and that he didn't get the move he was after when it seemed that he was surplus to requirements.
I remember Bamford getting a nasty knock before the playoffs and Karanka needlessly keeping Bamford on..
that along with Ryan Fredericks being naughty stepped stuck in my mind as Norwich beat us in the final.
If it's true then i'm surprised that Karanka stuck with him!!

Different times mateyThis club owes one of its most entertaining and successful era to mercenaries. Ravanelli, Emerson, Boksic, Viduka, Hasselbaink, Branco, Marco Branca, Ziegler’s, Mendieta, Merson, Zenden, Reizeger, Ince... the list goes on and on. All came because we offered crazy wages. The fans were happy because it was exciting times, the club were happy as the stadium was full every week and we had a moderate level of success.
Did you go on the sick every winter!!!Some of you need to remember it's his job. If you were offered a 60/70 percent pay cut no doubt you would have turned it down. Does not have to love a club to play for them. I have been on jobs I didn't like but still did job to best of my ability.
It may turn out that as there was no transfer involved in him staying offering a better deal might have made more sense at the time. Too late now though.
He certainly was heavily involvedAyala was heavily involved, thats not an assumption or rumour, I can assure you it is fact.
That is spot onAyala had one of his pretend injuries, where no one could find anything wrong with him. Karanka was abit stressed his son had just broken his leg in a junior game a couple of days earlier(playing on with a broken leg As didn’t realise) his wife and son had travelled back to Spain for treatment for the son . Ayala was saying he couldn’t play because of his imaginary pains. Karanka called him out on it in front of the team saying his son was more of a man than him. Leadbitter defended Ayala it all got very heated almost coming to blows with Karanka in the process.
Karanka was told to go away for a few days and fly back to Spain spend time with his wife and son and to calm down. It was not his decision to take that weekend off.
Well saidI know for a fact that Ayala loved Karanka’s demise at Middlesbrough.
I know because of numerous personal conversations with him. I don’t feel bad posting that now given he has gone and in the style he left.
I think he hated it that Karanka came back and then even more so when he lost his place (rightly)
Danny should not be welcomed back. I don’t think he is a big miss anymore
