Average price of beer where you are

$11 to $12 for a pint of real ale.

Depends what you are drinking. Works out at 5.50 of your English pounds, but really dolllars are pounds here in wages etc so it’s really 1 for 1.

A friend of a friend is at an Australian airport and just paid $18 (£9) Australian dollars for a beer, where I live in Brighton its around £6 to 7 for a pint, I think it'll topple £8 by summer next year.

Where you live, how much is an average pint?
I’m only up the road from you. If I went to my local it’s be about £6 but generally drink in the cricket club (summer) and footy club (winter) and £5 is top whack for any beer.
(Though its £2.50 a pint where I am in Turkey now 👍🏻)

£4.90 - £5 for a pint of lager up here, more if you drink in the centre/touristy areas.
Last time I was in Stockton I paid £2.70 for a pint in The Royal Oak and in The Sun.

Smiling NHS nurses going to Oz to work for £38k, mighty not be smiling when they have to pay £9 a pint. The Australain health service adverts don't tell you its more expensive to live in Oz.

Some prices on Teesside are amazingly cheap - such as £2.50/pint - it costs more for a coffee where I live.

About £5-6 in Stockport.......although the area where I live is proper gentrified middle class.
When I lived near Stockport in the 1980s there were virtually no gentrified areas, it was like Middlesbrough. I lived in Hazel Grove which was quite leafy, a bit like Nunthorpe, a few miles out of Stockport. The main BBC Radio 5 presenter said he lived in Stockport and I was a bit shocked. It could be example of how parts of Manchester have gentrified and Middlesbrough has not since say 1985/6.

To be fair that is not much more than you'd pay at most UK airports when I was in Australia beer was only slightly dearer than back home.

Average for macro rubbish in the city centre, around £5.50-£6.50

Elsewhere you can get very good cask around 4-5 pound and speciality imported craft beer anywhere from 7 up to 13 or so.

I pay £5.65 for a pint in my local.

I was in Dubai airport the other week and got charged £13.60 for a pint of Bier Moretti, I couldn't believe it, I said to the waitress I only want one.

Next week I’ll be in the sixth most expensive city in the world to drink beer in. Eeps. Probably paying £10 a pint
