Ok so it’s said tongue in cheek, but….hell of a summer rebuild job to do.
Can’t help but feel like last summer was the time to properly back Carrick with decent purchases/loans, and in not replacing the 45+ goals of Akpom, Archer and Ramsey with ANYBODY proven at this level, we’ve missed an opportunity with a cracking prospect of a manager and it will always be a ‘what could have been’ moment.
Ho hum.

Nonesense. I would have thought that with a cash injection of about £30m we would have a great chance of gaining promotion back into the Championship

I don’t doubt that we tried to “back him”, but the club has no draw over other Championship clubs, including financially, when trying to sign the top players for this level.

There was a time when I think some players thought the club was “well run” and promotion was just around the corner, but on paper none of these things seem remotely likely at present.

This season reminds me of moggas last season where we were clearing the decks,slashing the wage bill and getting our house in order financially ready to have a real good go at it in the following season.
