The asylum costs are classified as overseas development aid and come straight out of the aid budget. It's not additional spending - it's a reduction in spending overseas. A significant chunk of this spending in Brighton & Hove ended up in this man's pockets (warning - it's the Mail)

Well the barges were just commissioned with no tender process at an extortionate cost (I recall).

Should have gone out to bids via the governments procurement system, but this was completely bypassed and an order placed direct.

So there's one.

Serco supplying slum housing, another one. Bet their profits for providing sub-standard housing far outweigh their costs .......good for the shareholders.

It's all about the money......while at the same time whipping up the right wing mob, demonising the asylum seekers. Win/win for them really
