He'll have to get past his big brother to get into their team!i was there on saturday at their game with newcastle. they are genuinely excited about ramsey but can't see archer getting into their team as it stands
Yep, my Villa supporting friend said much the same. He thinks that Ramsey is going nowhere, and have high hopes for him. But there is no way into their team for Archer - so perhaps we might be able to get him on a permanent deal if we do go up?i was there on saturday at their game with newcastle. they are genuinely excited about ramsey but can't see archer getting into their team as it stands
Football tends to be a bit cyclical outside of the 'top clubs' doesn't it?I remember when they used to hate us for coming and cherry picking their best players - Ehiogu, Boateng, Southgate
Completely agree. If I was a Villa fan I'd be very unhappy if their club didn't give Archer a chance next season. He's gone out on loan to two championship clubs and done well at both. He has done everything he could to earn being looked at at the next level up before being sold. Still very young and he will probably get stronger. Quality strikers cost a fortune and don't grow on trees, it would be criminal to jettison one who cost nothing, is a local lad, who has passed every test so far, without making sure he wasn't good enough.
And Glover, Kerr and Burke!I remember when they used to hate us for coming and cherry picking their best players - Ehiogu, Boateng, Southgate
Archer is top class, needs only half a chance to put it in the net.Completely agree.
Unfortunately the way modern football is set up, instant success is needed. If Villa finish the season well, they will probably be in Europe. If they are, the expectations will rise massively. Expectations rise, so do expected quality of signings.
So Archer, in a sane world, will go back to Villa on the back of two very successful loan spells and be slowly integrated into the first team. However in football world you would expect Villa to splash the cash on another quality forward to play alongside Watkins pushing Archer down the pecking order. Archer going back as the new striking hope for next season, will the fans be happy?
Will he be happy to be a bit part player? A Carabao Cup starter? Few mins here and there in the PL. Or will he want to start week in week out
Love him back here for the full season, but can't get my hopes up.
We can’t, in the PL you can only have one loan at a time from another PL club, so it would have to be one of the other.I could see us getting both back on loan if we go up - would be great development for them and Villa if there were getting time in the PL under us, plus increasing their value

I never get my head around them selling us the spine of a really good team. They are arguably 3 of our Best Buy’s everI remember when they used to hate us for coming and cherry picking their best players - Ehiogu, Boateng, Southgate
nor can I mate. As a Villa fan it was what happened though under Deadly Doug Ellis. When we could have pushed on he stopped the spending and then all of a sudden we lost three of our strongest players.I never get my head around them selling us the spine of a really good team. They are arguably 3 of our Best Buy’s ever
