I think it was a friend of the family.. I remember everyone kicking off how sure it was and the lads mum sticking up for him saying how much he loved the boro and how he’d tried his very best. Pretty sure he was still at college. Might have been the same lad who had some artwork for sale in the club shop more recently.. also dreadful.Looks decent... Simple.
Our change was strange. No fan interaction etc. Just appeared over night. I hope they didn't pay anyone to design it. I'm guessing if they did it was in sweets
I'd prefer we'd kept the old badge and at a push drop the 86. Although thought it had a place as major recent club history.
It's the 2nd half. It's facing the wrong way.
the transporter bridge is shyte, it’s not even a bridge.. it’s a fixed crane.. and like most things round here it was done in the cheap instead of having something worthwhile. We should return to the pre 86 badge or have a similar with the transporter instead of the ships
It was someone employed at the Riverside.I think it was a friend of the family.. I’m afraid you lost me at the transporter bridge is Shute my good man, which is a shame as I usually enjoy reading your posts.the transporter bridge is shyte, it’s not even a bridge.. it’s a fixed crane.. and like most things round here it was done in the cheap instead of having something worthwhile.

The Dorman Long Tower was a genuine symbol of our greatness, groundbreaking and unique.. highly regarded by architects the world over. One of the earliest examples of brutalist architecture in the UK and right on the doorstep of the birthplace of the architect who coined the phrase.
The work of Victorian designer Christopher Dresser (Linthorpe Art Pottery) was a precursor to that of Bauhaus and modern design in general. He was bloody Bauhaus forty five years before Bauhuas was Bauhaus.. and he was doing it in BORO

So many great innovations spawned from the ICI complex, fantastic new materials and processes that we now take for granted.. we genuinely changed the world. The three ships Captain Cook’s Three Ships.. apart from claimed the east coast of the Australian continent for Britain, he made genuine, real scientific discoveries.. again ones which have shaped the modern world. But sure.. let’s change the daft boats out for a crane.. a ruminant of everything that is wrong with Middlesbrough.. everything that has held it back.
The greeks invented maths, politics and philosophy.. but let’s talk about the doner kebab!
The 1986 badge was well thought out and properly designed.. iconic. It suffered through its popularity with everyone from pizza shops to taxi companies using the badge for their own means.. well.. we definitely put a stop to that!
Bring back the badge! No bridges or parmos or cranes or kebabs.. a red rampant lion.
Newy that is absolutely rubbish - you must know that surely. The Transporter Bridge was not done on the cheap and was cutting edge design at the time. It replaced an overcrowded ferry with a flying ferry. It was a solution in many ways similar to Tower Bridge, London still as much an icon now as when it was opened in 1886. Your bridge would have meant destroying much of the town it was built to serve.the transporter bridge is shyte, it’s not even a bridge.. it’s a fixed crane.. and like most things round here it was done in the cheap instead of having something worthwhile.
