Temp manager Bruce's Boro played Sheff Utd at home, march 1986, in a match we had to win to hopefully pull away from the bottom 3
We battered em that night, sadly we didnt get the goals our performance that night deserved & we ended up losing 2-1
Sheff Utds main striker Stockton born Keith Edwards lad their line that night & maybe scored one of the goals
Dejected Boro players walked off that night with an applause from an appreciated Boro crowd, they had given everything for the shirt
The board were that impdessed with Bruce & the team, the way in which he had us playing changed his position from temp to full time manager & the rest is history as they say
