Arrests at the match

Stayed back after the game for a pint and to watch the Grand National, following that we left and walked to the underpass. there was a guy in handcuffs by the underpass with several police officers around him but to the side was his young son, who was talking to a couple of police officers, as the guy was walked away to the van, he was remonstrating, shouting about what was going to happen to his son, which I felt was a tad ironic, as why would you put yourself into a position to be arrested, whilst with your young son, very bizarre behaviour.

Coming away from the ground on Wednesday and when I was going over the crossing near the Nav there was a 4x4 trying to push through the crowd. A guy in front banged on the bonnet of the car and the guy in the car opened the door to jump out. By this time I was near the front of the car going down the passenger side and could see the driver's wife/partner hanging on to his pants trying to drag him back in. There was a lot of shouting and swearing going on and the guy got back in his car. I carried on walking but could hear a very young voice saying 2you would have had him dad, you would have killed him, wouldn't you."

Why would anyone carry on like that with their kids with them? Scratch that, why would anyone carry on like that?

Shocking, why would anyone hit someones car filtering through pedestrians 🤔
I think you are missing the point, yes the car shouldn't be moving but why would someone put themselves in a position that could get out of control when they are with their children. People who think it is ok to do that obviously don't care about their kids.

Same argument Yaxley-Lennon was using in that pathetic video a few days ago.
"But I'm travelling with my kids"... sure, but that doesn't invalidate the reasons why you're being detained.

Interesting thread.
No one says they saw what happened other than a chap in hand cuffs and an upset son.

Looks like, from the comments, we have got the state where the Police are trusted fully and the chap .must have deserved it.

Doesn’t match my experience of policing at football grounds.

There was a complete k*ob going away after the Chelsea game in a black BMW who almost hit a child he was weaving that much near the Navigation crossing. Utterly clueless and they should be stopping the cars coming out AND putting the police back on the roundabout down Dockside road.

A great deal of people have their adult bodies, but their brain is still stuck in Year 10 at school.

It looks as if you came across someone who wants a mate rather than a son. A great deal of stupidity amongst people in general could have been nipped in the bud with a few more withering looks from their parents instead of 'hur hur hur!'

Walking to the ground yesterday there was a kid about 7 on his dads shoulders it started raining and the dads mate said to the kid give us your hat and the dad started saying tell him to fcuk off son go on.

This is spot on, I was at West brom away in the relegation season under Southgate and we got spanked 3-0, I shouted something along the lines of 'this is effing shoite boro' I was then put in a headlock and the cuffs slapped on and dragged out by 3 police officers who were huddled on the front row where I was and i was 19 i think at the time, the policing can be over the top, Stoke away was bad this year. I have no faith in our police whatsoever.

I remember at milwall a couple of seasons ago one of their fans running g from his seat to be closer to our fans took his top off and was offering people outside and making cut throat gestures. It was only after watching him for a while I realised he had his -approx 4 year old son with him! Poor kid hasn’t got a chance in life if that’s the sort of role models he has around him!

I remember that guy, there is no hope with some.

The road from the stadium to the crossing and the crossing itself need closing to vehicles post match until the crowd have dispersed. It's getting stupid along there with cars all over coming to pick up.
