I remember (vaguely) their tie in 1990, which I think is the last World Cup meeting between the two, which is crazy when you think about it. Napoli’s Careca v Maradona.

They also met in 1982, 1978 and 1974, so 4 times in 5 world cups, then 7 World Cups without meeting.

It will be a spectacle for sure.

I dunno. After watching Messi yesterday, probably his best ever World Cup performance (that I can remember anyway) I am starting to believe it could finally be the time for his fairytale to be complete.

As much as I would love to see it, their squad is so weak this year, think the first decent side they play will blow them away

Agree, they're nothing special but function pretty well as a side and I can see it going either way.

I think Argentina v Brazil would be the better watch as the rivalry adds an extra spice to it.

But I do think it'll be close between Argentina and Netherlands.

Personally I think if Messi pulls a 9/10 performance then Argentina go through. If he pulls a 7/10 (or below) performance, then I think they'll struggle.

I don't think Spain look that great. Hammered Costa Rica but struggled as the game went on against Germany and lost to South Korea. Very good in possession but don't have that spine that they used to. I'd fancy England or France to beat them

Yes the top nations are starting to come to the fore in this World Cup aren’t they.

No Surprise minnows this time around.

Spain I actually thought had been underwhelming, blew Costa Rica away but then didn’t look great against Germany or South Korea. Oddly given they won a game 7-0 i think a lack of goals will be spains problem.

I think Argentina will beat the Dutch and Brazil. They are doing enough and i expect them to frustrate, cheat do whatever it takes. I have not been that impressed with Holland and think Argentina will out-s***house them.

I actually think Croatia will cause Brazil some problems.
