Are you a sports fan or just a football fan ?

I really only watch Championship football. Can't be bothered with Premier or the European stuff. Don't get me started on American "sports"; I lived there for more than 20 years and it's mind-numbingly boring.

My interest in football is much less than it was. Now only go to non league and watch Boro games online. Hardly watch any other football, will watch England games (men and women) but not other tournament games, I watched barely any of the last World Cup. Can’t remember when I last watched MOTD or EFL highlights.

Still watch a lot of sport though - love the NFL, speedway, cricket, Rugby (finish of yesterdays England game was as good as it gets).

No real interest in horse racing and can’t stand tennis.

Football, Cricket, Tennis and Athletics I’ll make an effort to watch. Have been to watch all those live with the exception of Tennis, have tried the Wimbledon ballot. Watched Rugby,Horse Racing, Dog Racing and Basketball live also. Follow NFL, Boxing, Darts and Snooker. Can be tempted occasionally to F1, Netball and Hockey.

I love football and I'll watch most matches even as a total neutral.

I enjoy watching darts.

I'll happily watch England or Great Britain in most major sports and competitions.
I am a bit of a glory supporter when it comes to most other sports though, I'll only really watch if there's something on the line for British sports, and I don't really watch any neutral stuff.

I don't enjoy Formula 1, horse racing, American football, snooker or golf.

Would say I’m a fan of football & cricket.
Football obviously the Boro and English leagues watching a lot of games during the season.
Love all cricket including watching my team in the local NYSD league.

Then I would say I’m more of a follower than a fan of most other sports (few I’m not interested at all) more checking results/scores with not much interest in watching.

🤣

Football only, and even then it’s just Liverpool, with the occasional interest in England during tournaments. I’ll watch bits of the Olympics and the Winter Olympics, but only if there’s nothing else on tv. I’m not fussed if I miss any of the events.

Generally a sports fan, not just football. The big change in my football watching has been that if I go to non-Boro matches these days, it’s nonleague. I won’t look up the big games. And I’m not that likely to watch them on the telly.

Don’t agree with some of the comments about “American” sports and their prevalence here. Basketball is widely played. it’s quite surprising how poor the elite game is in the UK considering the participation level. And ice hockey was a bigger game in this country 80 years ago and even 40 years ago than it is now. Both were quite significant in the north east when I was growing up. They are not recent TV stimulated affectations. The other two, maybe.

Watch a lot of other sports, UFC/MMA, NFL, Horse Racing, Snooker and Road Racing such as IOM TT are the main sports I follow closely but will watch athletics and gymnastics when on TV. I do find it hard to support another team though, especially in NFL. I have teams I like watching but I dont think id ever say I 'support' them or get massively fanatical about them.

Liverpool? Are you lost?

Football is 99% about the Boro for me. I watch England in major tournaments, and that's it. I don't watch any other games, not even Champions League finals or non-England World Cup games. Just the Boro. I pay attention to other results sometimes if I particularly dislike a team and want them to lose, which says a lot about me.

I also love cricket and baseball. Fantastic summer sports to watch for hours on end.

Not really bothered about most other sports, but I'm very passionate about those three.

I Just watch the Boro live at the RS, I don't enjoy watching them on the TV at all, I get too animated:censored:. I just go to the home games these days never away. I do have Virgin Football(sons and grandson watch it), but I seldom watch any at all, only a game that sparks my curiosity.
I really enjoy any sort track and field athletics (although I know its probably bent), Other stuff pursuit velodrome bike stuff, Moto cross, other football ? - I like to watch international tournaments especially with any home countries involvement.

Rugby Union, Cricket and Tennis tend to be a bit hooray henry sports of no real interest to me.

Like most sports, especially cycling and cricket. Can't be doing with Golf or "American sports" though, dull as ditch water, and I'm possibly the only person who can't get away with the darts!

I asked someone once whether they liked other sports other than football and they replied:

I like watching any sport that's played with a ball

And it got me thinking, that's pretty much the same with me. There's a couple of exceptions. I hate tennis and love watching boxing and cycling.

Sports I enjoy watching

Football
Cricket
boxing
Rugby
Golf
NFL
Aussie Rules
Cycling

Agree 100%
From day one through to now circa day fourteen thousand nine hundred and ten, when people talk about the opposition players & say how good they are I do not compute. How do you know? Why have you been watching QPR before now? Weird.
Also if they were any good, then they'd be playing for Boro.
I'm the same. I don't know who's any good in the rest of the league a lot of the time. The only time I start taking note of other teams is like last season when we are looking like promotion is a possibility and then I'm watching other team's games in their run in. Even then we played Coventry 3 times in a row at the end of the season and all their players I can remember have left already. I was surprised to see yesterday that the 2 top scorers in the championship are playing for Blackburn and Plymouth. With our performances this year I haven't really taken any note of the rest of the league at all.

Most definitely a sports fan. My Wife always comments on some form of sport being ever-present on the TV, especially when you have test cricket from India on at breakfast, football and rugby throughout the day and golf on late in to the night! :ROFLMAO: .

it's like our household. Rugby has taken over. Especially in this golden period when there is super rugby on a morning, PWR championship on an afternoon and the Six Nations early evening and evening
