Ardon Jashari

One thing I'll remind everyone of Is the effect Michael Carrick will have on the transfer of Midfielders.
We may be second tier but our facilities are amazing, we're 5th in the league with a manager who was elite in his position.
He's a big, big pull to young platers who grew up watching him and this guy will have watched because of Ronaldo and United being a big club worldwide.
Let them be interested but go out and make that statement to the rest of the championship, we have this pulling power
Scarily, if this kid is 20, he’s probably too young to have watched Carrick at his best! He’ll have been 6 when Ronaldo left United.

God we’re all getting old.

FM suggests he's already at the level of Howson and plays a very similar style to Carrick himself. Essentially sitting in front of the back 4 and starting attacking moves from deep. Very good with the ball, solid passing/technique with excellent strength and balance.

Judging by his stats and age I'd be very excited if this one comes off.

Honestly, keep your well informed and articulated footballing opinions to yourself, this thread is all about the knob gags 😉

Does that fee include add ons?

I would have thought our budget for outright purchases is very limited, after last season's large loss.

However you have to invest to accumulate with young players i.e buy them at 20 or 21 and possibly sell on 2 or 3 years later at a profit. Forss is an example. If he becomes a regular top half Championship striker, he will be worth more than what we paid in 2 year time.

If he signs and we all chant “we’ve got an Ardon, we’re so excited cos we’ve got an Ardon, we’ve got an Ardon…etc” or “come to see our Ardon, you’ve only come to see our Ardon!” would that be classed as offensive chanting liable to ejection from the ground?

This is something we've not heard much from Scott on actually but given our recent permanent signings it could be the approach we're looking at?

For permanents sign young, develop and sell for a profit?

Plus loans for an instant impact (Steffen, Giles, Archer etc).

It's certainly a model which has worked well elsewhere (Brentford?) and is in sharp contrast to Warnock's experienced signings with no resale value. Makes a lot of commercial sense as the club can't really be writing players' expenditure off if we're not successful on the pitch.

depends how Gibson looks at it.

We made losses, correct, but we were comfortably within our FFP window. So it's up to Gibson. The club is allowed by the rules to spend, but can only do so with a cash injection, that would need to be a loan from either Gibson or a bank. The only way we will clear the debts in my lifetime is by promotion, so might as well speculate to accumulate. Remember at the beginning of the season we were looking to spend more than this on a striker. About £7-8mill offered for Larson

Depends how keen he is on coming?
No point thumbing him in a position he is not interested in, only to pull him off before the end.
