Apparently there is a cushty buy back clause in the deal for him and also the Ramsey dealYou do have to wonder why Villa are so happy to let him go though.
Hmmm fair enough. I suppose as a Villa fan he would likely want too, go back to if his career really takes off.Apparently there is a cushty buy back clause in the deal for him and also the Ramsey deal
Yeah its “decent” but it’s not like it’s silly money.Probably because they got decent money for him?
Suppose it makes sense then. Almost like a semi-permanent loan.
I know I think it’s obviously great he’s got premier league football. But as you say, it’s gonna be a tough old season for him. More than likely see the best of him next season once they are inevitably relegated.Suppose it makes sense then. Almost like a semi-permanent loan.
Not sure how well he’ll be able to in that side though.
The buy back clause is a way round the limited loan player rules, loads will be looking at doing it for sure, it needs stopping imho.By the sounds of it they've effectively loaned him and Sheff Utd take on all the risk. If he's a success they but him back for a similar price. If he's not then they've banked £18m and got him off the wage bill.
He’s an incredible player - think he and Gustavo Hamer genuinely could be game changers in that Sheffield United side. I never expected him to return here once Premier League clubs started being mentioned, futile to expect that we can match that level of investment. Onwards and upwards for both parties, I reckon.Good luck Cameron! Superb talent who will go on to have a great career.
Have to be registered by 12pm on Friday (or Monday if midweek) to feature in a Premier League fixture. In against Man City today ?
It operates *like* a loan in that feasibly the other club could buy him back after 12 months but equally the parent club could, say if Archer scores something like 10 in 20, negotiate a new contract without a buyback option or with an increased buyback clause. Buyback is likely to be higher than the initial fee so either way they’ll make a profit on him unless he seriously flatters to deceive.Surely with a buy back clause the player has to agree to it unless it's essentially a loan with a commitment to buy if not relegated?
Good business from Villa. It’s effectively a loan where they make a load of money, and if they turn out to be the players Villa want them to be, they get first dibs on buying them back, no doubt at below market price.Apparently there is a cushty buy back clause in the deal for him and also the Ramsey deal
