So Villa are buying him back from Sheff Utd, and selling/loaning him to us?

I thought the terms of the deal meant he automatically returns to Villa if Sheff United are relegated or something about relegation?

Yes we will be linked with a multi million pound move all summer for Archer and end up bringing Tom Eaves or Macauley Langstaff.

You can only play for 2 clubs during a season, you can only be registered with 3.
If Archer did come back here, which I have my doubts about, it wouldn't be a problem as he'd only be registered with one club in the registration period, Aston Villa.
Assuming the buy-back deal is automatic upon the end of this season, anyway.

Archer isn’t coming back here - do you seriously think he’s going to back here and take a massive drop in wages, because we sure aren’t forking out the kind of money he would command in wages, not to mention the transfer fee involved. We have consigned those kind of transfers to the bin of history, at least while we’re in the championship, and rightly so.

It would certainly soften the blow of losing Hackney, I actually think this would improve us but I don’t really trust the information.

Could see him coming back on loan again with Villa paying most of his wages like last time. With a proviso that we sign him if we are promoted. His stock is low at the moment so can’t see any Premier League forking out for a permanent transfer. Two top strikers with Josh as backup. Can’t see Hackney going anywhere anytime soon, especially not to Wet Spam but, if he does, Archer would compensate for his loss. The lack of strikers this year has cost us. Since ELL has come back we have been a different team and Law McCabe could be the new Hackney next year.

Chuba x LL would be more effective than Archer x LL. in fact the former would be immense and is arguably more realistic than us signing Archer on a perm.

That would really be the dream but unfortunately can't really see Chuba coming back to the Championship. I would imagine he is more likely to stay at Ajax or move Premiership or ond of the other top leagues in Europe too good for the second tier
