Apparently the clubs are not allowed to leave the ESL as they have signed binding contracts

Correct me if I'm wrong. But, It can't be a legally binding contract if it knowingly forces the teams signing to break other contracts. i.e. EPL clubs are only allowed to play in competitions stipulated in their EPL membership. ESL would have to prove that their existence is legal before trying to inforce contractual terms

We both know it won't if it happens, and I doubt it will, this money will end up in the hands of Barca, Real, and Juventus to pay their debts.
That would actually be quite a good result. It would effectively kill any future move to establish a "Super League" with those three (would you sign a contract with them again) and would such a league be "super" without them?

my guess is when this goes to courts....and it absolutely will......then that will be a key defence.

Good to see you back Mr Maz. Always a provider of considered thought.

Is the flip side of this that by signing an ESL contract the 'big six' have broken their membership contract with the EPL so the EPL can now crucify them or expel them? Bit like signing a bigamous wedding certificate. Would be great if this is the case but I suppose the 'big six' can't have been that stupid. Or could they?
