Anyone travelled/travelling to the USA recently

We've booked New York for April 18th to 22nd but im lost in the minefield of Covid requirements and passport requirements.
We're flying with Virgin Holidays.

Do we need video/witnessed covid tests the day before travel? If so, how do we do this?
My daughters passport expires in July. Entry to the USA states you only need the duration of the stay valid on your passport but im worried Virgin might require 6 months remaining? Ive tried to contact them but spent hours on hold.
Many thanks
It's easier than it seems at first. Yes you need a pre travel witnessed Covid test, but nothing once you get there. I used Dochq.co.uk and it was dead easy. (They have decent reviews). You buy the 'Fit to travel antigen test' and they post it to you. You book an online video appointment in advance, but for within 24 hrs before your flight. Test+vid all in was £27.50, but when I booked the discount code BRSWEB30 worked, and I got it for £19.95.

After they've witnessed your negative LFT they email you immediately, while still on the video call, with the document you need. (Which you can then upload to Verifly (if you decide to use it). I used Verifly, but found it a bit of a faff, although it does mean you can use the self check in bag drop).

You need an ESTA as well. (Definitely worth checking about the 6 months on passport)!

I've done it in the queue for departures for the US, and even in the arrivals hall for Canada (which was dicey I'll admit that).
:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: - Like I said, they recommend at least 72hrs! - You're a bigger gambler / braver than I am!!

Edit: That said, apart from one occasion which was next day, every time I've done it it's been approved within minutes.

Both occasions were not deliberate, but oversights on our part and we were lucky they came through quickly.

ESTA sorted
Passport sorted as ok
Covid tests booked through Prenetics via the Virgin website £28 pp
Zoom observed the day before travel. It’s been a ballache trying to find the correct information for Gov information, airline requirements and in-country requirements. I certainly didn’t envisage it being as awkward as it’s been, and it still has the potential to go horribly wrong.
Failed zoom calls, positive tests, Manchester airport queues….
Cancelled flights

Enjoy the trip mate, I'm sure it'll all be worth it!

I’ve applied for a visa at checkin.Friends of mine had received a new passport for their son but not updated his visa, so I sat at Newcastle airport and applied for his visa, luckily it was approved within the hour . Not sure about New York but in Miami ,mask wearing was very relaxed, even in the airport, even though it was against federal law not to wear one.

New York and Miami are VERY different.

I work in NY and although the mask rules are relaxed , as I posted before , it’s up to the individual business. I would agree that Miami and NYC are worlds apart . NYC was very badly hit with the first covid wave and I think that impacted how people perceive what is acceptable behaviour

Didn’t know about the witnessed covid test thing, thanks for all the info lads… we’re off to NY and Canada next month, so I’m going to have to sort this lot too 🙄
