Anyone else think black lives matter is a bit racist in itself?

I get the point behind it obviously, but dont feel right to me as a man of colour, what about other colours its discrimination surely,

political correctness does me up as well kids cant say blackboard whiteboard sing bah bah black sheep but i have to put my ethnic diversity as mixed "black" ludicrous i think,

Im standing behind all lives matter no matter the colour.

All lives dont suffer from systematic racism though. BLM is not about saying other lives dont matter, its asking to not be judged differently purely on the colour of their skin.

So no, its not racist and saying all lives matter to counter is completely missing the point.

All forms of racism and discrimination have no place in society, but saying all lives matter is not a catch all solution, and is increasingly being used as a tool of racism and discrimination itself.

Were you piloting a plane last night by any chance?

Of course it is not racist Chris-Boro, it is merely highlighting the fact that black lives matter too. It is not suggesting black lives matter more, or only black lives matter. However, it is wrong, when people say ‘all lives matter‘, to accuse them of doing so ‘to counter’ and that they are completely missing the point. I accept some maybe, but not all. Just like some people use the BLM might distort the issue for political purpose. All causes get hijacked or misinterpreted unfortunately.

The truth is we all have our own individual views thoughts and beliefs, thankfully most of us get along within close degrees of tolerance and variation of a theme. Those that cross boundaries, break laws or have agendas are an issue. We ALL need to do more to help those suffering and to try to do our best to ensure as good an equal a life chance for all, but we must recognise the onus and responsibility of an individual to use their life chances wisely and not waste them, as some undoubtedly do.

Unfortunately, human nature being what it is, we all at times put ourselves and our own loved ones before others in the main if push comes to shove, human beings are often selfish and unthinking of how we impact others, the pandemic has highlighted that. The day when discrimination is eradicated will not appear in my lifetime, nor my grandkids mores the pity, but long may the struggle continue.

Someone replying to black lives matter with all lives matter is missing the point of the movement. I was talking specifically about those who do use it as a direct counter to BLM.

All lives matter is valuable in its own right but should never be used to devalue or detract from black lives matter, you can have both, they are not an either or.
