Anybody on here being treated for adult ADHD?

thought ADHD was more to do with young kids drinking too many blue drinks tbh..

seen some targeted ads/content recently and 100% of it rings true. not sure where to go with it tbh, but at least it's some comfort that my experience it is a thing.
Like you, I started reading lots of articles about ADHD - I did the online test thinking "This can't be me", but it was, I can't remember the exact results but I was very far progressed on the spectrum. The problem is knowing all of that is what do you do with that information and how will it change my life. It won't, but it explains a lot of puzzling things that have happened in my life.

Medication might be an option? Formal CBT or I think for me it will be watching a few videos and trying to pick up some exercises or coping mechanisms to try and make everyday things a little easier.

I spent quite a bit of time with a psychologist a few years ago, but that was more about things going on at that time. It really helped though. I did a lot of mindfulness (before it became trendy) and that really helped. I did try meds as a part of this process but it really didn't suit me at all.

Trying to get my daughter (19) diagnosed as we think she has it - ticks a lot of the boxes - but it's a two year wait to even be assessed. 😬😬
Have you thought about a private assessment, I k ow that obviously comes at a cost, but treatmebtvtgwreacter can still be done through the NHS.

Yes me, 2 therapists have suggested I have it. I have been in a waiting list for 18 months or so. My mental health nurse is trying to fast track me

I was told by parkside they wouldn't recognise private assessments. She said, anyone can download as fake results.
I know of a couple of people that have been here and highly recommended, treatment definitely can be sought through NHS after assessment.
