Any update on Lukas Engel?

He was withdrawn from the squad against Leeds for personal reasons.

I just wanted to know is he available again.

Hope all is well for Engel. We missed him against Leeds tbh as felt we conceded a few due to Luke Thomas being woeful as he's been ever since he's joined.

I wondered what had gone on - he was in the photos of players arriving and then not in the squad. Hope all is well.

The were probably told in advance as to what the issue is/was. Also probably not to ask any questions on the subject.

Absolutely no reason to rush him back. We have Bangura and Thomas available. So not a problem giving him time off. Give him all the time he needs.

Its usually a birth or death of a close relative. A successful birth would have been announced which now leaves a dark shadow.

Fans can sometimes help in difficult situations, if they are allowed to.

Would love to know which goals you think would have been prevented if Engel had played in front of Thomas since the only goal Thomas was involved in was the first one that Boro scored when he won back possession for us up the pitch.

The 4 goals we conceded all came from the right and Dijksteel was at fault for at least 3 of them.

Dieng, O'Brien, Clarke and VDB were all at fault in varying degrees for some of the goals too but struggle to see how Thomas was to blame for any of them.

Anyone think Thomas has played decent for the past 2 games? Bangura is obviously a lot better and now that he’s back Thomas will obviously will return to Leicester but he’s no way been as bad as people are making out. I’d say he’s (Thomas) has been slow to adapt and not forgetting both Bangura and Engel were out so Thomas had to hit the ground running and learn on the fly. Thomas imo will turn out to be a very good wingback and might surprise a few where he eventually ends up once he’s matured.

I thought Thomas started poorly on Monday, but he was okay after that.

He's shown nowhere near enough to be worth persisting with though.

Agree he's played well in his last 2 games.

It's just his positioning man he was all over the place really both our fullbacks Dijksteel and Thomas contributed to the goals Leeds scored. For the Bamford goal Thomas didn't pick him up

He was Clarke's man who didn't track him because Dieng should have collected it.

Thomas wasn't at fault for any of the goals. Ridiculous comment.

I still wouldn't be surprised if we are in for Thomas in the summer. He's relatively experienced for his age (22) and young enough to be developed.

Also the fact he's out of contract and available for free puts him right on our radar. I'm sure I read we'd been 'tracking him' for a few years. So maybe the odd random starts are us having a look at him.

Bangura looks the best of our current 3 left backs. I wouldn’t take Thomas as he has been poor for most of the games he has played for us.
