Both 3 minutes away from having any chance of joining the boro!*

Anwar El Ghazi played 3 minutes for PSV
currently a free agent after being released from FC Mainz.

Cameron Archer seemingly out of favour at Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United.. had 3 minutes for Villa at the start of the season preventing the possibility a loan move.

ITK info.. after seeking clarification for ‘the foreign lad’ I found out that he was 19 years old and with 14 goals?!? apparently from Düsseldorf. I cannot for the life of me find out who this is. Someone mentioned a German link was floated on oneboro.. did anything come of that?

Also got told we are in for aright winger who is out of contract in the summer and their parent club was asking for £2.5m!

Who the chuff will that be?

Very vague and annoyingly mystic meg-ish

The right winger was Matt Phillips according to one of my SAUCES 👍
 
From Dusseldorf, or playing for them? Can't see any German strikers playing in Europe at the moment with 14 goals, and if it's players for Dusseldorf their two top goalscorers are Vincent Vermeij and Christos Tzolis have 11 goals each, and are 29 and 22.

Yeah.. I think so too. 14 goals is one hell of a chunk.. even in div 2.. ffs lol

Plus.. where did the other 3 goals go?

the squad is tight.. injuries will soon clear up and we’ll have a good go at it.

It does feel like we maybe had an option to add a bit of spice with Diallo or Benson as back up to Jones.. maybe not tho. I would have like to seen us bring in a RWB.. oddly enough I think Djed Spence could have been the perfect answer on a number of occasions.. hopefully we can find ourselves a good djed!

Anwar El Ghazi would be cool.. maybe.. would he go for it? would WE go for it? It all starts adding up doesn’t it!

Yeah i think unless there was a free agent, or 2, who MC thought would be the key to finishing in the top 6 such as an Archer or someone who can be a huge impact on the starting eleven i don't think they'll sign anyone for the short term. They'd just save the funds for a proper concentrated effort in the transfer market in the summer.
 
El Ghazi is certainly talented enough for us to be interested in him, it just wont happen.

I'm not sure he would be interested, I also dont think the current regime are that way inclined either.


Having said that, the fella up the road at Aberdeen would have had him round for a BBQ and out on a bike ride around Hurworth by now.
 
Upper mid table beckons - Im totally fine with it tbh. Engel, Bangura, Lath, VDB, Azaz, Coburn will all be better next season, plus a few additions - replacement for Howson (O'Brien?) McNair, all the injuries sorted. This was always likely to be a transitional season after going close with the loan players and needing to build our own squad - if Hull dont go up they will be doing the same themselves next season.

Surely Danksy must have a good insight into El Ghazi from his time at Villa?
As Michael Debeve says, not sure if there would be any mileage in that link, but it would be interesting if there was to be.

you would think that if anything was going to happen that it would be in the next week.. any longer and we’re looking at the bottom of the pile.

I've been of this mindset for a while...Championship is an uncompromising league and it always takes players new to the league a while to adapt. We've got 3 months to get folks back fit and bed in Azaz. Reckon we will finish somewhere between 10th and 8th position. Looking forward to next season , we should undoubtedly be stronger with players mentioned ready to hit the ground running hopefully.
