I’ll pass. Bad enough when they were free in Gazette website.

Bloke lost what little credibility he had when he continued to be an extension of the club’s PR department.
 
We must be a very dull club to cover ( especially to grab national headlines) these days as we don’t spend big anymore and we’re not likely to see a takeover anytime soon so all you have left are parochial football articles about our style etc.

I can’t see this being in great demand, even I’ve stopped reading the gazette now as what’s the point all it ever is PR puff pieces or remember when nostalgia trips.

He would be a better writer if he toned down the gratuitous figurative language.

It feels like he is trying too hard to be clever and his writing suffers as a result.

Sometimes less is more.

My initial thought was isn't a patreon something from Harry Potter?

Would've maybe have been a bit cooler if I'd thought it was a new car like.
 
Hope it works out for him, I expect a book soon. He'll need to expand his content beyond Boro and Teesside for it to be a going concern.
 
i've never really considered Vickers anything other than average bloke off he street level of footballing knowledge, some of his articles give me the suggestion he has either never played football, or he simply doesn't understand it from a tactical framework, for me to pay to read his articles would be no different to paying to read one of the posters off here, still , i wish him luck in his new venture, must be hard to find a new career when youve been a journo all your life
