I didn’t realise people would be over sensitive to a turn of phrase and take it literally. I’ll remember peoples sensitivities going forward.Should have said that the first time
There’s only one poster trying to make drama here and it isn’t me.There's no drama in that though
translation: I'm not the problem, you areI didn’t realise people would be over sensitive to a turn of phrase and take it literally. I’ll remember peoples sensitivities going forward.
Definitely.Boxing is a dangerous sport, I've got respect for the ballsyness of every single one of them that steps in the ring.
For anyone who was offended by my comment here then I apologise. It’s Joshua’s funeral!
Like mart said, you’ve set your morality barometer for respectful posts extremely high. When mutiple boxers have died, is distasteful to bring the connotation of death into it.I didn’t realise people would be over sensitive to a turn of phrase and take it literally. Fury would have beaten him whenever they fought, Joshua should be in his prime now but this is his level, decent fighter massively overhyped by the media and his promotersIf you watch his interview with Gary Neville last year he specifically mentions heavyweights avoiding each other until one is vulnerable as they know that 1 big knockout and their career could be over. Interesting to see him pretty much doing the same.
should be a decent fight but i see fury winning either on points or stoppage by 8th/9th round
I do think Wilder has to a large extent, the way he took Fury on only when he was nowhere near fit was opportunistic to say the least. Personally I felt that first fight was an irresponsible match with his health and mental health issues.I hate hearing people talk about professional fighters 'ducking' people. Its totally disrespectful and 99% of the time untrue.
Look at some of the wars AJ, Fury and Wilder have been in, they all deserve far more respect than they get.
Sometimes fights don't get made and it could be for a number of reasons, but these guys ducking each other? Come on now.
I’d like to think my morality barometer is pretty high, As I posted above it I offended anyone then I apologise as you never who’s reading and what the situation is. As for my mask I’m not really sure what you mean by that.Like mart said, you’ve set your morality barometer for respectful posts extremely high. Takes a bigger person to admit the got the tone wrong, on this occasion.
Or maybe it the mask slipping. Who knows
It’s true, no way would Joshua’s promoters allow him in the ring with anyone who they thought would beat him as one loss and it’s usually game over for the big names, especially for the big money fights. They have made as much from Joshua as they possibly can and now his only option is to take this fight. If he was still unbeaten no way this fight would ever happenI hate hearing people talk about professional fighters 'ducking' people. Its totally disrespectful and 99% of the time untrue.

I agree. It's an unforgiving sport and fighters need to pick their fights wisely. Careers can be ended at any moment.I hate hearing people talk about professional fighters 'ducking' people. Its totally disrespectful and 99% of the time untrue.

Especially as one is a middle aged football manager with some loan players and free transfers in his corner, whilst the other is a battle hardened Director of Shield with a whole squad of superheroes behind him.I do think Wilder has to a large extent, the way he took Fury on only when he was nowhere near fit was opportunistic to say the least. This is basically what happened for realDefinitely.
I had a dream back in the 90s that I had agreed to fight Mike Tyson for £1m.
I was sat in the changing rooms beforehand crapping myself. (It was my old school changing rooms obviously).
I was trying to decide whether taking a punch was worth £1m or would it kill me.
Came to the decision to just lie on the floor and take a count before he got near me. But I woke up anyway thank god.
They put him in with unbeaten and dangerous Dillian Whyte in his 15th fight, unbeaten Martin in his 16th fight and unbeaten Brazeale in his 17th. Then in the ring with a legend in his 20th fight. Followed by Ruiz, Povetkin and Pulev all had never been knocked down. People can argue that Pulev was past it, but don't forget that Joshua agreed to fight Pulev 3 years earlier, but he got injured. It’s true, no way would Joshua’s promoters allow him in the ring with anyone who they thought would beat him as one loss and it’s usually game over for the big names, especially for the big money fights. All fighters he was clear favourite to beat though, putting him in with someone like Fury at any stage would have ruined his career, doesn’t matter now as that’s already gone and probably his only chance to make big money. No chance this fight ever happened if Joshua was undefeatedThey put him in with unbeaten and dangerous Dillian Whyte in his 15th fight, unbeaten Martin in his 16th fight and unbeaten Brazeale in his 17th. There were no tomato cans in that list once he'd dispatched the woefully national level Gary Cornish, it was all top 20 HWs from then on. Lots of tests, all with far more experience. They tried to get him in with Miller as well, another dangerman in the division who failed a drug test.
The only ones he didn't fight were Wilder, but he made a massive offer to fight him, Wilder chose a lesser financial offer but seemingly easier fight with a half fit Fury. Fury himself, believe what you will, an old man in Ortiz, and Chisora whose effectively a stepping stone fighter for the last 4 years. Anyone else who has been in the top ten, he fought.
To be fair, McNeeley looked game enough there. Just never had a chance.Sorry McNeeley
