Another season with only 2 cup games

We’ve had worse.

The win against Leeds was one of our best performances in donkeys.

I just wish we would buck the trend and give everything in the FA Cup.

Half-committed approaches with pre-season starting line-ups and inevitable results mean that fans won’t be bothered to turn up even if the tickets cost pennies!

Always the mark of a crap season

The last season with only 2 cup games was Carricks first season, not sure that was a crap season. Not sure this one is either, plenty to work on but 5th and scored more goals after this many games than any season this century. Probably much further back than that, but I can’t be bothered checking.

We scored more goals in the last two seasons than any of the almost 50 previous seasons, but we’re on course to score more this season than any other. It’s dull under Carrick!🙄

Cup should matter every season, cup final day is the stuff of dreams and etches a team into folklore.
Whilst that’s true, we have only managed to make it once in 150 years (FA Cup). And the time we did was pretty devastating.

I think if you’re in the top flight you have an outside chance of winning it. If you’re in the lower leagues it’s a chance to play a “big” club.

For clubs like ours the FA Cup almost always turns out to be a bit of a non-event. And that’s not just a modern thing.

I think it’s more the manner of the exits, rather than the exit itself mate.
