Whilst that’s true, we have only managed to make it once in 150 years (FA Cup). And the time we did was pretty devastating.Cup should matter every season, cup final day is the stuff of dreams and etches a team into folklore.

I think if you’re in the top flight you have an outside chance of winning it. If you’re in the lower leagues it’s a chance to play a “big” club.
For clubs like ours the FA Cup almost always turns out to be a bit of a non-event. And that’s not just a modern thing.
