Another example of poor journalism on the BBC

Robert Buckland not getting pulled up on the terminology when saying that this a new government, forgive me but haven’t they been in power for 12 years. It’s stupid little comments like this that the BBC let them get away with all the time.

It is a “new government” though as it been a considerable change around I think only the defence sec is still in situ the rest have all been moved or replaced. That’s not poor journalism as worst it’s semantics.

But this also removes their excuse as well as they have the power now and as we can see the results have been disastrous.

Oi Jedi don’t be coming on here with a reasoned argument and citing semantics. Although you are obviously correct 🙈

What this does do though is remove their ability to argue that they have been able to change as this is a new sweep at it and have been just as disastrous as the previous lot. I think it makes them look even more inept than before.

I caught the news on BBC yesterday for the first time in years and it was genuinely shocking. Kept referring to the mini-budget / fiscal event / trussterf*ck / kamikwasi as "the Conservative growth plan". The whole tone was that the growth outcomes are guaranteed and any debate is just about how significant any short-term hiccups are and whether external factors are really responsible for them.

At least now I understand how the Tories are still polling over 20%.

I think in real terms the prime minster forms a government so every new pm technically forms a new government, hence Jedi pulling me up on the terminology.

What sums up the BBC up for me is their flagship news programme Newsnight. Continually government ministers get an easy ride but when somebody like Mick Lynch is interviewed they really go at them and dig for details and always have follow up questions whatever the answer they receive.

Like I said unlike brown than that was more evolution the changes under truss have been dramatic only one senior post reminds unchanged ( defence ).

All the rest are new or newly appointed.

Conservative HQ is under a new name. Conservative Campaign Headquarters. Same address different name
But, Ideologically and in terms of policy really it’s new HQ is now to be found at 55 Tufton Street.

It’s time the Tory appointed board, and governors of the BBC were taken outside and made to look at this monument to George Orwell (one of their past employees)…especially the inscription. To remember what a news institution is really about
