Expect some press release reannouncements or announcements regarding announcements over the coming days. No doubt Preston and his team will be using the same how to guide used by Ben Houchen. Not even a murmur from Houchen about what's going on - and he's supposed to be leading the Tees region?
On the back of dropping 600k of local public money on his skyscraper vanity project, you'd have thought Preston might just concentrate on doing some of the very basic things right. Heard it from a very good source he wasn't happy about the office development at Centre Square winning an award for the best commercial building development in the North. If anyone follows his social media, I'd say there's a very good chance that this hasn't been mentioned by him despite the council supposedly desperately trying to fully occupy it to bring hundreds of jobs to the town centre. He's long claimed his skyscraper was going to be the best between Newcastle and Leeds and was a previous critic to the Centre Square offices. He stated “That’s because it’s all ****. Nobody has built a decent F***ing office in Middlesbrough for decades.” It turns the best office space between Newcastle and Leeds was already there staring Preston in the face everyday.
