Andy Preston asking the Government to lock Boro down

I think the eat out to help out was needed, but it was a catalyst to get a little more virus in circulation before people started went back to work/school then it really lifted off
And I get called a conspiracy theorist? The virus is always going to be in circulation. I've said before the sooner the human race gets to grips with the fact that they cannot control mother nature the better for everybody.

Do you work in a pub by any chance?
No I work in a restaurant. Just sick of the hospitality industry getting blamed for everything.
Anti social behaviour on a weekend? Oh that's the fault of the pubs.
A+E full on a Saturday night? Ah that's obviously the pubs and bars risking their licence throwing beer down people's throats at gun point.
Oh restaurants are spreading the virus because people are wanting to socialise with friends and family even though as I've previously mentioned they are more covid secure than care homes, schools, colleges, universities and even hospitals.

Look at the outbreaks of norovirus that occur in hospitals every year, infection control in the scared NHS is **** poor and has been for years.
My wife ended up in a+e with a severe asthma attack a few weeks ago. 111 recommended she to there at 3am in the morning on a Friday night. James Cook. No seperate waiting room for patients, no test for potential infection, staff wearing a mask only to see patients, no gowns or hazmat suits. Was in and out in 2 hours. Unheard of on a Friday night.

But you go to a restaurant or a pub and the virus can tell when you are stood up or sat down, knows when you are eating or drinking, knows when you need a ****, knows when you went a new drink and also knows that if you scan the QR code to check in you don't need to check out and assumes you've been in the same place till closing time even if you came in to eat or drink at lunchtime.

Everybody rushing out to eat will have circulated the virus quicker than if less people went out to eat

We had to boost the industry I’d just question the timing of schools going back straight after that

Except places have been open since July 4th and the spike didn't really start until after the first week of September.

They say at the current infection rate then everyone will have had it in the UK by January. Sorted👍

It's out there for ever like the common cold and flu (until we get a vaccine and only one in 10 will get it in the first year).

We have to start living with it. We could lockdown until December but soon as we open up again it will spike. I doubt we will see a time where it won't spike once we open things up.

The ridiculous 'eat out to help out' had places packed and no doubt is one of the reasons for the current spike which was noticeable almost immediately after the scheme ended.

There are people being asked to return to office based work when they could work at home, this is neither helping the economy nor restricting the virus spread.

Both of these have brought infection into virus free homes, the kids and young adults then being brought together at school and college has produced a further spike.

The hard work of everybody being undone by gimmickry supported by the irresponsible within the food and drink sector. There are places being closed by authorities in the north east today despite taking strict measures to stem the spread while others with no or very few measures remain open.

This is just a question. Do local authorities get funding from the government to help with going into local lock downs? Just curious why they are clammering to ask to be put into lockdown. Its almost like saying don't come to our area because we cant handle things here, sort of admitting you have failed in your control of things. I guess i am just a bit of a cynic when it comes to councils/goevernment or anybody in authority really.

People and businesses that obey the guidelines should not be penalised for the actions of those that don’t, it’s 3 simple measures: policing, punishing and prevention.

First of all unannounced spot checks should be increased and businesses that are not obeying the guidelines hit with temporary closures, individuals caught breaking guidelines would be hit with banning orders from premises similar to the pub watch scheme, prevention by restricting numbers, having table service, track and trace, ordering apps, cash free transactions, social distancing etc etc

I’m aware that most of the prevention measures are in place but without policing and punishment too many are being paid lip service to and the actions of a few are impacting on the lives of many.
