Is Andy McDonald still sitting as an independent MP and if so, will Labour select another candidate for Middlesbrough or will it all be resolved by then?
 
Andy is still under investigation and is currently suspended from the Labour whip. But he is still a labour party member and will be expected to comply with all the party rules.
We have wrote to the party asking for swift conclusion to the investigation.
Andy has the full support of Middlesbrough CLP and was unanimously re- selected to be our candidate in the next election.
As it currently stands Andy cannot stand as a Labour candidate while he is suspended, it's the reason we have asked for swift resolution.

Thanks for that, will he get the backing of the council as an independent candidate if he is still suspended by the Labour Party or will they throw their support behind the person Labour put forward? Hopefully, it will be resolved and not come to that.
 
He gave it both barrels on the World at One today about the Teesworks report, probably allowed slightly more freedom without the whip on that issue at the moment. Not sure i agreed with his approach but he wasn;'t backing down.

The council doesn't back candidates!

The local Party fully supports Andy, but at the same time as per party rules we will back our candidate for MP, we all hope it is indeed the person we have already unanimously supported, that's Andy.
 
I think the Green Party have a fantastic chance in the next election . People want change and are terrified about what's happening to the environment and climate change, and for good reason 💚🌲🍏

The green party as has much chance as me, and people will be happy to know, I'm not standing. Indeed the Green party will more than likely help Clarke keep the seat.
