Analysis of Wilder’s comments

The Boro UC

According to reports Wilder has said, “I just don’t think there’s a way out of talking about it. I think it’s really unfair on anybody. I’m manager of Middlesbrough, nobody knows what’s round the corner for anything do they? I don’t know what you want me to say or what you want me to do

Maybe the interviewer should have said, we want to you to say your staying, or was Wilder asking the room if they want him to stay (what do you want me to do?)?

anyway what do his comment mean? MFC have said nothing so maybe,

1. If Burnley have made an approach and he’s considering it, he’d say, I’m Boro manager and it’s all speculation (until he agrees a deal and goes)
2. If burnley have made an approach and he wants the agreement of the Boro board to back him for the future to stay, he may say his quote above?
3. If he’s staying whatever, he’d just say he's staying
4. Or other?
