An experiment to try and prove a point.

Live, it's Son.

Clearly not the best player I've watched, but he was absolutely immense against Boro in 2016, I'd never heard of him before that match and I've always looked out for him since.

On TV, Messi.
No explanation needed.

The best player I have seen would be Henry but the best individual performance would probably be Juninho because I saw him have more good games than Henry.

Live .. Chris Waddle, he completely destroyed us.

TV... Michael Laudrup , still think he is my favourite ever player.

Not trying to be facetious....Terry Cochrane, Stephen Bell or Stan Cummins.... 30 years before Juninho but had that flash of genius...amoungts the grey.
Suppose it depends on what you mean ..by reputation,by individual performance or who took things to another level on a cold drab and misrable Saturday afternoon.
Went to school with Stan Cummins, you couldn’t get near him, he was more than handy. But live I’d say, controversially, Tony Adams, watched him a few times including the riverside, he moved left and right like a gazelle, spotted a threat and snuffed it, almost beautiful to behold. On TV there was a spell where Messi seemed to have such a low centre of gravity he could move in amazing ways with the ball at his feet. - maybe I’ve got a thing for ballerinas 🥴🤷

Messi, never seen another player who even comes close in terms of ability

In the premier league Aguero was always fantastic to watch

If its purely on individual performance, Blackburns Noel Brotherston's one man demolition of us from around 40 years ago will take some beating.
