Amazonia

One has tried - really, really hard, to patronise " Independent " businesses wherever they have an online presence of things I require , to combat the all conquering Amazon.

Have ordered everything from Books, Candlewax and electronic supplies to Oil paints and Angling Kit.

And the stress factor in dealing with them is off the scale compared to Amazon.

I realise that Amazon have it pretty well cracked, but my experience ( from incorrect inventory to high delivery costs and the speed thereof) leads me to believe they are just letting them have a free kick with an open goal, they really don't help themselves.

An example off the top of my head would some LARGE plastic storage boxes I order from Wilco ( a slightly bigger then usual supplier) - I do this every Christmas to make hampers filled with booze and edibles for the adults.
For 3 years straight - they have ****ed every delivery up - it is both maddening and baffling - as it is So easy to cure they problem they have.

The inventory thing is especially annoying, as it is child's play to get right.

I will pay MORE to them just because they are not Amazon - but there are limits.

Well done for not cracking is all I can say. I do everything I can not to order from Amazon and usually succeed. However, I've never had the poor level of service that you have endured from the alternatives, although most items end up costing me more in retail price and/or delivery.
