Sounds great. We have access to an apartment in Calella de Palafrugell but haven't tried to get to the festival as we have small kids, but maybe in a few years. ,
You are lucky if you have access to a place nearby to stay. The hotels close by make a fortune in July and August as the festival lasts around 2 months.

When you get the chance it is well worth going to a summer gig there.

We chose to stay in an old hotel within walking distance of the gardens. The walk there along the street with posters for all of the gigs over the 2 months was great. Walking back after the event was out of this world. My wife and I were both buzzing.

On the night we got there early and went for a walk around the beautiful gardens overlooking the sea.

It cost a fortune. With flights to Barcelona and back. With a night in a hotel by Barcelona airport as we had an early flight back. Plus 2 nights at the hotel that was walking distance from the gardens.

Sadly I doubt whether this years event will happen. Looking at the list I think it would have been either Lionel Riche or David Bisbal we would have gone to see this year. Bisbal is a singer who comes from our province of Almería.

It's sad to think how much local businesses in holiday areas are going to suffer, and those areas which rely on annual events for income. I just hope a reasonable proportion of the restaurants, shops, hotels etc can survive. The same applies to areas of this country also I guess

Like I said I’m talking more about law in general rather than the greenhouses which I know nothing about. We also live in vastly different places, you in the countryside, me in the city. The biggest reason I use the word lawless is that I’ve seen on a number of occasions the Guardia Civil attack innocent and defenseless civilians on the streets, physical beatings with batons and also firing rubber bullets into crowds with children.

I live in Malaga city and I have to say your description really couldn't be any more opposite to my experience - I've never lived in a more friendly, safe, and social place (though the week of Malaga Feria in August can be a bit "lively !).

I also haven't heard that massive amounts of working on the black takes place or is the norm, and as I mix with Spanish locals, I'm fairly sure it would be mentioned if it was a major issue here. Maybe it's a Catalonia thing ?
