NOT ONE FCUKING LEADER IN THE WHOLE PI$$ING SQUAD

That’s the main issue for me and can’t be sorted anytime soon.
We aren’t going to attract a big leader or 2 type in to the club in January whilst languishing in the bottom 3.
I think we’re heading down.

Here’s what could happen.
Carrick has a mare with results until early February and we find ourselves bottom of close to the bottom.
Gibson decides to call it a day and swallows his pride and calls warnock into do a saviour job like before (or maybe dysche if warnock is too busy with his BBQing)

Seriously, I’ve said it before he was appointed, I just can’t see how his inexperience (especially alongside woodgate) how they know what to do (like bringing in leaders such as leadbitter) to get us the results we need to stay in this league.

As much as I disliked warnocks style credit has to go to him for getting gritty performances out of these fannies.
That’s what we are. A bunch of fcuking fannies.
Nearly 4000 boro fans there today!!!!!!
It makes me so fcuking angry because with half a decent team this town would be buzzing but what we have is depressing….really fcuking depressing….shyte like Preston beating us.

Same with Liverpool against Leeds..

If I was Carrick I would seriously be looking at bringing in Neil Warnock as my assistant.

Gone backwards since Warnock was sacked, we have as bad a team as I have seen in my 51 years & yes, thats including the dark days of the 80's, as a ST holder too, we're awful to watch, slow, ponderous & predictable, no fight, no desire to commit to more than is expected of them

Akpom, who gave his all, held the ball up, brought players in to play & Hackney, who continues to show promise & had a great 2nd half, I would happily let the rest leave

We are one of the 3 worst teams in the league

I think it's very clear that Warnock managed to cover up many of the weaknesses in this squad. Some of what Warnock did carried Wilder through a good spell at his start at the club. But it's far too early to decide Carrick can't fix things.

I think there are a few positive signs from the last few weeks. And Carrick is a winner, if that attitude can brush off on the squad then I think things will start moving in the right direction.

Erimus aint far of what he says. Lack of fight. and Giles is not a defensive full back, costing us far too much regarding giving goals away. He is a Gordon Jones left foot which is great but Jones could defend as well ... Should be burying PNE on paper but they dont click. hard on hackney as he is just starting but the rest have been around a while. Akpom trys but fall short ( yes I know he got one yesterday) and misses a lot more than scores.... Muniz ... not sure about him . All very ponderous .... McGree had a decent game tho....

The issue under Warnock was the lack of consistency in terms of results. We would literally win one week and lose the next - it was doing my head in.

We were also just as soft away from home under him. I can remember an awful 2nd half performance away at Luton. We were 0-1 up and within the space of 5 minutes found ourselves 3-1 down.

We lost yesterday because we have some almost criminally dense defenders. From the free kick they couldn't spot (or decide to mark) either of the two guys at the far post - one of whom was going to head the ball back into the mix completely unchallenged, leading to a choice of two more to head in. As Carrick said - "We could see what was going to happen" from the touchline but we can't get that message across. From now that sort of scenario needs addressing in training because clearly at this point some of them have no idea. In our position they need to learn fast or be replaced by those who can.

Our away record under Warnock was far better than the record under Wilder. As disappointing as the start to last season was, we never looked as dead and buried as we have done this season. Warnock cared about results and did whatever it took to get them. If something wasn't working, he changed it - usually to good effect. Wilder couldn't do that and seemed to destroy the confidence the side had by forcing them to play in a way that wasn't working.

I was never against Wilder. But the mess he's left us with has put us back 24 months to where we were when Warnock joined. The side has no confidence, the players don't know what they're meant to do and we're languishing in the bottom half of the table. I have faith that Carrick can do a good job, but he does need some experience in there with him to help him get across his winning mentality into the players.

The lack of desire to defend that free kick for their second on Saturday really worries me. Jonny Howson just stood and watched it float towards Storey.

Riis gave a substantial example of why we should have broke the bank to get him in the Summer.

Looking at the highlights the defending just too poor particularly aerial defending. We need four defenders who can head the ball and when the vast majority of their challenges.

The first goal Giles just did not defend with any aggression and McGree was out fought. Very sloopy play from Fry in his own half - if he hit the ball down the channel we could not have conceeded. Wae have lost a few goals like this where we have given the ball away in our own half and conceeded. We are not Man City and try to play too much in dangerous areas for us.

The second goal came from a free hit across the area the Preston player had not a sole Boro player on him and he was 12 yards that enabled him to direct the ball into a very dangerous area.

I am not as pessimistic as E74, but we do look like a bottom half team and we are going slightly backwards. I would be tempted to play Watmore for Jones at present and use Jones as impact sub or drop Muniz for Watmore.

I remember 1989/90 when were one of the favs to go up and we ended up having to win the last game of the season to stay up. The side had Pears, Mogga, Parky, Cooper, Slaven, Baird, Ripley, Kerr, Proctor. It just didn't click.

The Trouble is the most of the boro fans including myself were happy with Leo doing a good job with what we have why change now we are going to drop points between now & jan with carrick messing around with the team instead of leaving leo as he knows what we have including the young lads to bring in that we already have.

Michael Carrick has been at the club for about a week.
Does anybody seriously think he could have addressed the rot in that time?
What were people seriously expecting?

There is a crazy over-estimation re the reality of this squad in terms of ability.
They may be shot of confidence, but they also lack fight.
It will take Carrick (and Woodgate and whoever else comes in) some time to regroup, re-organise and then re-build.
I would snap your hand off for 55 points this season from where we currently are.
If Carrick steers us to that or above, then he will have started well.

Then it is up to Gibson what happens next.

We've had our ups and downs since Warnock left.. it probably sounds like I've got a bit of a thing for Warnock..

fact is.. we do need an experienced head in that management team. Woodgate could have done with a Warnock.. some one who knows the league.

if were waiting for Rene to come in after the world cup.. we might as well ride our luck.. I guess.

we've have got a new scout from crystal palace in now at least, a problem that was addressed in the summer.
