Boropolis reporting that we've had a bid of £7,000,000 (+£1,000,000 in add ons) rejected for Bordeaux's Alberth Elis.

He's a Honduras international striker, aged 26.

Alberth Elis

Check out his stats here. As mentioned above, he only signed permanently for them in July after a loan spell from Boavista.

Why they would then sell him to us 8 weeks later I don't know.

I don't know anything about him or the situation but he was on loan there last season so might have been a loan with a permanent. They got relegated so possible that they had an obligation to buy but can't afford to keep him.

Never heard of him
Not experienced
Just signed for his current club
- Put my house on him not signing for us.

Putting bids in on deadline day is never a good sign. If they’re not pretty much done and dusted at this stage, and all set to be signed off, they won’t be happening.

The club has had all summer to be putting things in place and shouldn’t need to be flapping around on deadline day. The deals we want to completed will surely be all prepared and ready to be confirmed.

Agreed. Absolute desperation. If the first contact you're having with a club about a player is on the morning of deadline day, it's pretty amateur.. or naive thinking you can pull a fast one on someone as they'll have no chance to negotiate and will want the money.

The French journalist this came from says they have already rejected bids from us and someone else, think he means earlier in the window but they expect more bids today but doesn't mean from us could be other teams bidding.

If we can't get Larson, who we seem to have been after all summer, time to stick with what we've got. Any news on Frank the Tank, that's the key position for me to help with the relegation battle :p

Nail on the head Viv. It's very rare that a desperation signing works out.

That’s how the gazette are reporting it

Apparently a Brentford journo said yesterday that it (Onyeka to Boro) won't be happening).

The only other defensive midfielder we have been linked with was that Teddy chap from Union SC, perhaps it's the day to bring Richie Smallwood or Sam Morsy back home?!
