I see the Mela is returning to Albert Park in August and well worth a visit if you are about. I worked on a stall a few times when I was at Connexions.

Event was broight forward to today at Albert Park. Ifshaan from Boro Fusion has just been on the phone to explain.
Central Mosque organised the Albert Park Eid event. They follow the call from Saudi Arabia about when Eid is declared. It is not precise date wise (like Easter). Waterloo Road mosque make their own calculation, based on sighting the moon tonight and their Eid will be tomorrow.

If the event was today then it must have finished early. It was very quiet when I got there. No sign that thousands of people had been present.

So will there be events over weekend like last year or is that it, not a lot of advertisement about it.

That's all folks. Was a morning prayer at 10am followed by a few hours of entertainment for the little ones. Originally scheduled for tomorrow however Eid was announced for the 28th just a few days ago by Saudi. Other mosques like Waterloo road will be following the closest Muslim country ie Morocco hence celebrating Eid tomorrow.
